St. Patrick’s Day is coming up this weekend! Whether you’re Irish or not, you’ve got plenty of fun ways to celebrate the holiday on the Central Coast, in Monterey County and SLO County. As your Central Coast real estate agent, allow me to fill you in on your options.
1. The Oak Shores Clubhouse will host a corned beef and cabbage dinner this Saturday, March 16. If you RSVP’d, head to the Clubhouse at 5:30 p.m. for an Irish dinner, drinks and live music by Daphne, Rachael and Auroa Denny. Wear green attire!
2. Morro Bay is hosting a Leprechaun Crawl on Friday, March 15, from 6 to 10 p.m. This adult scavenger hunt consists of 13 restaurants or pubs that will offer a sip of an IPA or a whiskey, along with a few bites for you nibble on. Complete your passport and be entered to win a prize. Special glasses will be supplied. Dressing like a leprechaun is recommended!
3. This weekend is Vintage Paso: Zinfandel Weekend, so you’ve got lots of winery events to choose from in Paso Robles! More about that is available in our previous blog post. Harmony Cellars is hosting an Irish Themed Celebration of Zinfandel on Saturday. Enjoy hearty Irish stew and soda bread while listening to live music and sipping on a flight of Zins. This will run from 12 to 3 p.m. for food.
4. Peter B’s Brewpub will go all out on St. Patrick’s Day with all of your favorite Irish things. Stop by for corned beef and cabbage, along with deals on beer and other bites, such as Reuben on rye, green beer, Irish mules and more. The Dave Holodiloff Celtic Group will provide Irish tunes while you enjoy.
5. Spend St. Patrick’s Day on the green! Poppy Hills Golf Course will feature a festive St. Paddy’s Day 9-hole Shotgun, complete with an Irish themed dinner and happy hour pricing on beer. Cost is $70 to participate.
6. Sign up for a Monterey Bay Food Tour, offering a special St. Patrick’s Day themed tour. Cost is $95. You’ll stroll through Monterey and sample bites from a variety of restaurants, all with an Irish twist. This runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Attend one of these events or just enjoy an evening out at your favorite Irish restaurant or pub, or making your own corned beef and cabbage at home! It’s the perfect time of year to take a hike, bike ride or stroll through the rolling hills of the Central Coast region as well, because thanks to all the rain we’ve gotten, the hills are green and beautiful!
