All year, Paso Robles is celebrating its 125th anniversary as a city. As part of the celebration, the city is throwing an old-fashioned 4th of July Celebration in City Park this Friday! If you still don’t have plans for the upcoming holiday, as your Central California real estate agent, allow me to fill you in on the events and activities taking place. There is something for every age group.

Daytime Activities in Paso Robles

The celebrating will kick off with a Children’s Parade at 11 a.m. around City Park. Every participating child is asked to wear red, white and blue, or to have fun decorating in a patriotic way. Get creative! The children are welcome to walk their dogs in the parade, ride their bicycle or ride in a wagon. It’s free to participate!

Following the parade, family-friendly entertainment continues with games, food and music in the park from noon to 4 p.m. The games are all free as well. Traditional games include sack races, three-legged races, a watermelon eating contest, lawn games and more. A DJ will be playing live music all afternoon.

If you need some time indoors to cool off from the heat of a Central California summer, head to Park Cinemas for a showing of the classic movie Yankee Doodle Dandy! This will be played at 2 and 4 p.m.

Evening Activities in Paso Robles

Concerts in the Park take place from 5 to 8:30 p.m. The rock group, The Usual Suspects, will kick things off. Adult beverages will be available and Red Scooter will be there to serve food. When the band takes a break, a Salute to America program will take place at 6:30 p.m. with patriotic music and military retirees, veterans and active duty members participating.

The special fireworks show next to City Park begins around 9:15 p.m. Find a good place to settle down with lawn chairs or a blanket to watch them!
