Kids Guide to Weekend Fun in Central California!

Central California Real Estate
Free Pancake Breakfast in Paso Robles

As a Central California real estate agent, I often share information about local events and activities in town, and these activities often involved drinking local wine. It’s just so prevalent and popular here! However, there are numerous events and activities in the Central California area for kids to enjoy, too. That’s what makes this area excellent for families and people of all ages.

To help you plan a fun, family-friendly upcoming weekend in Central California, here are a few suggestions.

California Mid-State Fair

I shared information about the Fair in a recent blog post, but let’s talk about the kids, specifically. The southeast corner of the California Mid-State Fair is a haven for kids! It is filled with carnival rides, from simple to crazy and everything in between. You can purchase wristbands for $30 on weekdays and $35 on weekends for unlimited rides.

The earlier you go, the shorter the lines are! For adults with kids, check out the two Ferris wheels that offer beautiful views of Paso Robles. Also check out the new “World of Wonders” show.  There are classic and new rides, along with a slew of games, and delicious treats that kids will love. The SLO Tribune has more information for kids at the Fair.

Pancake Breakfast in Paso Robles

Downtown Paso Robles has all kinds of events and activities going on all the time. This week, on July 24, kids might especially get excited for the Free Pancake Breakfast, which is a community tradition! It runs from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Paso Robles Downtown City Park. You can stop by and enjoy free pancakes with all the fixins’ while also enjoying fresh summer air and socializing with neighbors.

Concerts in the Park

Concerts in the Park take place every Friday evening in Paso Robles Downtown City Park, and these are family-friendly events as well! There is no concert this Friday, July 25, because of the California Mid-State Fair. On Aug. 1, enjoy funk ‘n’ soul music and food by FishGaucho. On Aug. 8, enjoy 60’s rock and roll music and food by Thomas Hill Organics. Check out the full schedule for the rest of August.

Lake Nacimiento

Lake Nacimiento is always available for family fun time! Kids can enjoy swimming, boating, water sports, fishing, picnicking and more at the lake. Families can plan a weekend of camping at the lake, or even in the backyard, if you live near the lake! Oak Shores is also hosting free pool nights on Tuesdays and pontoon boat nights on Thursday nights. Bring the kids by for some old-fashioned lake fun.
