Upcoming Events in SLO County

The fall season is filled with interesting, fun and exciting events throughout the Central Coast! As your SLO County real estate agent, allow me to fill you in on some events taking place this coming weekend and the next in SLO County. It’s never too soon to plan for the weekends, right?

1.  If you want to witness something really unique, head to CowParade in SLO County on Sept. 17. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., you can view 101 life-sized cow statues, each beautifully decorated by sponsored artists. They will be displayed in a meadow next to Madonna Inn for public viewing. After Saturday, the cows will be moved to different parts of the country, so this is the only day you can view them all together. Admission is free, but food, wine and ice cream will be available for purchase.

2.  Beaverstock is coming to Castoro Cellars this weekend, Sept. 17 and 18! This two-day music festival has the perfect backdrop of a beautiful Central Coast winery. Headliners Saturday are Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, and Sunday’s headliner is Jackie Green. Doors open at noon each day, with the show running from 1 to 9 p.m. Bring your own seating. There will also be yoga, arts and crafts, local food vendors, disc golf, a kids’ area, craft beer and of course wine. A one-day pass costs $55 and a two-day pass costs $85. Kids under 10 are free, and wine members receive two free tickets to one day of the fest when they sign up!

3.  Windrose Farm will host their Heirloom Tomato Festival on Saturday, Sept. 24, from 2 to 6 p.m. You can taste over 40 varieties of heirloom tomatoes, and you can watch as local chefs prepare tasty bites using the tomatoes. Then, if you’d like, you can purchase most of what you taste throughout the day at the Farm Stand. Tickets for the event cost $25. Proceeds will go toward funding local agricultural education scholarships.

4.  Billabong’s Still Frothy Surf Festival will take place Sept. 24 and 25 at Pismo Beach Pier! This is a free surf competition for kids 17 and under. There will be lots of surfing, along with prizes to win all day during games and surf trivia. Whether you know a participant, or are a participant, head out to Pismo Pier for some great entertainment and to cheer one our Central Coast youth! Also, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, you can catch the “Tow At Air” event, where surfers are pulled at high speeds directly toward the waves, to do stunts they wouldn’t be able to do otherwise. It’s a sight to see!

Enjoy your next two September weekends in SLO County with these events. When ready to accomplish your Central Coast real estate market goals this fall, contact me, your Central Coast real estate agent. Whether you’re ready to buy, sell or both, now is the time to get started. I am here to help!
