Harvest Wine Weekend is this coming weekend, Oct. 16-18, in Paso Robles! We all enjoy celebrating the harvest season here in Central California, and this annual weekend of festivities is the perfect way to do so.
As your Central California real estate agent, I regularly fill you in on the best and biggest events happening around the Central California area. So today, allow me to fill you in with the details you need to know before attending one of the biggest events of the year in Paso Robles.
What makes Harvest Wine Weekend stand out from other major events that take place in the area is that it isn’t one main event that everyone crams into. This is a weekend loaded with 140 activities happening all over the Central California region, including winemaker dinners, grape stomps, barrel tastings, artisanal food pairings, live music and much more.
There is no ticket cost to participate in Harvest Wine Weekend. Each individual event or activity has its own ticketed price. You can search online by the day, winery or activity.
Here’s a variety of examples of what you can expect this upcoming weekend:
- At Alta Colina Vineyard & Winery, you can participate in a Harvest Hike & Tech Tasting on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Walk the vines with owner/winemaker Bob Tillman while learning about harvest. Then head back for a technical tasting in the brand-new winery.
- At Castoro Cellars, you can participate in a grape stomp! Friday, you can enjoy a Mediterranean dinner with Paella, Zongo and wine pairings, and then stomp grapes, or watch from afar. Saturday and Sunday, enjoy grape stomping, great food, live music, wine and more.
- At Dunning Vineyards Estate Winery, chocolate lovers will unite each day of the weekend for the Decadent Dark Chocolate Dessert Bar! Enjoy pairing chocolates with a variety of wines, including the new release of Cabernet Sauvignon. You can also browse the grape-themed jewelry show, and on Saturday, enjoy tri-tip mini sliders from the oak wood barbecue.
- At Eberle Winery, you can enjoy a Thomas Hill Organics dinner in the caves! You will enjoy farm-to-table food, meet Eberle’s new winemaker, Chris Eberle, and of course, drink wine. Saturday, Gary and March will grill up tri-tip, ribs and duck sausage, and Tres Mojitos will supply the music. Wine tastings and cave tours are complimentary on Saturday and Sunday.
- At Le Vigne Winery, enjoy a tour of Italy with wine and food pairings with their winemaker on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, you can also attend the winemaker dinner at 6:30 p.m., featuring a multi-course dinner. Then on Sunday, attend the live cooking demo at 1 p.m., where you’ll learn how to prepare potatoes with pizzazz.
