Are you spending your holiday season in the Central California region this year? Good choice! As a Central California real estate agent, my opinion of the area is bias, but Travel + Leisure named Paso Robles as one of the best towns for the holidays.
For one, they talk about how Paso Robles is painted red for the holidays, as in, Pinot Noirs, Cabernets and Syrahs. During the holidays, you can find numerous low-key events at local wineries, such as wine tastings, musical performances, craft fairs, dinners and more. Plus, there are lots of gift opportunities at these events, such as local crafts and wine bundles.
They especially recommend stopping into Parrish Family Vineyard’s tasting room, with its convenient location in downtown Paso Robles, just a short walk from City Park. On Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, join Parrish Family Vineyard for their Wine.Art.Chocolate. event from 1 to 5 p.m. Enjoy a special wine and chocolate pairing, featuring the Chocolate Stache, which costs $18 plus tax. You can also shop among jewelry made by PasoJules, which uses local stones from Moonstone Beach.
The Travel + Leisure article also recommends the blocks-long Vine Street Victorian Showcase in Paso Robles, with took place this past weekend. That includes a full day of open houses, floats, carolers and more, amid decorated historic homes. It features the history and beauty of Paso Robles and its historic real estate. It’s definitely a holiday favorite among the locals!
For more real estate envy, Travel + Leisure also recommends Hearst Castle, which is about an hour’s drive from Paso Robles. This historic mansion will be adorned for the holidays much like it might have been for its original resident, William Randolph Hearst.
Holiday Twilight Tours are new this year, beginning Dec. 19. This special seasonal tour showcases abundant holiday decorations and numerous Christmas trees throughout the mansion, including two 18-foot-high trees and a poinsettia tree. You’ll also hear stories about holiday festivities that took place there back in its prime.
