Run for Fun in Monterey County

Last week, I shared a blog post about what to do in SLO County this month. Today, as your Central Coast real estate agent, I’d like to share a list of fun things to do in Monterey County this March! There is never a dull moment in the Central Coast region, so choose the events that sound best to you, mark them in the your calendar and enjoy! Invite your friends or family, or head out on a solo adventure, in hopes of meeting new friends in the area.

1.  If you enjoy fitness, and you’re looking to meet others who share your passion for health and wellness, join Run for Fun! This occurs every Wednesday from 12 to 1 p.m., so if you missed it today, catch it next week. This weekly walk, jog or run is for all ages and leashed pets. The group meets at the trail start behind Orchard Supply Hardware in Seaside. It’s free!

2.  Friday, March 11, stop by the Edible Monterey Bay Spring Issue Release Party at The Wharf Marketplace in Monterey from 5 to 7 p.m. Edible is throwing this free party to celebrate the coming of spring and the release of their spring issue. Enjoy complimentary One-Bite Wonders from The Wharf Marketplace, and purchase local beer, wine or coffee drinks from the cash bar. This is another great place to meet people!

3.  If you’re looking for a relaxing place to socialize with friends while savoring delicious food and wine, head to Captain’s Inn at Moss Landing for a Saturday Night Family Style Dinner on Saturday evening, from 6:30 to 11 p.m. Cost is $69 per person, which includes a four-course dinner carefully paired with notorious Central Coast wines.

4.  If you love whale watching, you’ll love the lecture taking place this Sunday, from 3 to 4:30 p.m., at the Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History. “The Natural History of the Ultimate Mouthful: Lunge-filter Feeding in Baleen Whales” will present anatomical and behavioral data that explains how the largest vertebrates can subsist on the smallest food. The lecture is free for museum members and $5 for non-members, which includes museum admission.

5.  On March 16, sign up for Sip, Swirl, Savor and Learn: The Fifth Annual “In Your Backyard” Series at Holman Ranch Vineyards and Winery in Carmel Valley, from 6 to 9 p.m. Chef Brandon Miller, from Mundaka in Carmel-by-the-Sea, will celebrate National Paella Day by taking you on a culinary journey through Spain and teaching you the tips and secrets to making traditional Spanish Paella.

This is just a selection of events taking place around Monterey County in the first half of this month. Like I said, there is never a dull moment in the Central Coast region! When you’re ready to buy a Central Coast home, or when ready to sell your Central Coast home, contact me. I am your Monterey County real estate agent, here and ready to help you at any time!
