Harvest Wine Weekend 2014

If you live in Central California, most likely you already know that this weekend is Harvest Wine Weekend in Paso Robles! This event combines more than 130 local wineries hosting their own unique events and activities throughout the weekend. It’s up to you to find the events that sound the most interesting to you, and to plan your weekend accordingly!

As your Central California real estate agent, I’d like to help make your weekend planning easier with a list of some of the events I find to be most interesting and worth sharing! I already shared some of my top favorites in my last blog post. Here are some more to add to that list:

  • Visit Frolicking Frog Cellars right downtown Paso Robles for new release and barrel tastings for only $5. On Saturday, attend their First Annual Sip and Swing Harvest Wine Festival from noon to 3 p.m.! You’ll sip reserve wines, enjoy live music and gourmet fare, and party in a roaring 20’s style. Tickets cost $30 per person.
  • Visit GreMarK Vineyards this weekend, it’s one of only three times a year that they are open to the public! This is the smallest winery in the county, producing only 300 cases a year. Go support them by indulging in handcrafted wines of intense fruit and low tannins. Speak directly with the winemaker that creates all the wines. Special weekend discounts will be available.
  • Visit Halter Ranch Vineyard on Saturday or Sunday for a totally local experience! You can hang out in their 19th century barn while tasting bites from local chefs, olive oils from Robbins Family Farm, and wines from Halter Ranch! You can also tour their new winery and wine caves. Make reservations for a tour at 11 a.m., noon or 1 p.m.
  • Visit Tablas Creek Winery for an interactive demonstration of how wine is created! This will take place on Saturday, ongoing between 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. You can first taste the newly harvested grapes, then try your hand at beginning their transformation into wine, and then taste the wines! Daily tours are also available of the vineyard, animal stable, grafting shed and winery.
  • Visit Windward Vineyard to taste a commemorative 20th anniversary 2012 release, along with older releases, each paired with artisan cheeses. Guests can also take advantage of a special barrel room photo shoot, with a framed hard copy photo to take home with you.  Create lasting memories listening to live music, sipping wine and playing Bocce ball, and then remember it with a photo!

These are some of the events that stood out to me, but there are plenty more that are worth checking out! Read through the whole list and let me know where you’ll be going this weekend!
