California Mid-State Fair – What to Know Before You Go

California Mid-State Fair
Things to do at CA Mid-State Fair

As your Central Coast real estate agent, I am always here and ready to fill you in on what’s happening around the Central Coast region! That is why this week is all about the California Mid-State Fair, one of the biggest events of the year.

On Monday, I shared information on the headliners and main entertainment, so you could buy tickets ahead of time if interested in going. Today, let’s talk basics, so you feel prepared as you head over the fest at the Paso Robles Event Center.

If you plan on driving to the Fair, there is a designated parking lot located on Riverside Avenue, directly across from the Paso Robles Event Center. Parking costs $10 before 3 p.m. and $15 after 3. It is limited, but there are also free shuttle services to and from the Fair, which might be a less hectic option.

Strollers, jogger strollers, double strollers, wagons and wheelchairs are all available to rent at the Fair for $10-15. You can bring up to two unopened plastic water bottles into the Fair, but no outside food is allowed in. However, with more than 85 food and drink vendors, you are sure to find something you like at the event!

If you love animals, you might want out check out the livestock shows and equestrian shows, happening all week long, or stop by the stable to view the Budweiser Clydesdales July 30 and 31. They will also make an appearance at the Country Rodeo Finals and at the Extreme Team Rodeo.

With your Fair admission, there are also daily performances, a shooting gallery and a carnival full of rides and games for everyone to enjoy. There are also enough displays to keep you busy for days! These include Ag exhibits, arts and crafts, fine arts, flowers, home arts, industrial arts, landscapes, photography, produce and tractor restoration.

If you go to the Fair for the food and beverages, you’re not alone. You can enjoy a whole slew of food demonstrations, winemaker nights, an apple pie contest, the Central Coast wine competition, home brewing, home winemaking, the California craft spirits competition, olive oil, vinegar and a pancake breakfast.

Ticket price information is available in my last blog post, but days to know about include Kid’s Day on July 25, when kids aged 12 and under get in free, Senior’s Day on July 26, when all those 62 and older get in for only $5, and Armed Force’s Day on July 30, when members of the Armed Forces get in free with valid military ID.

There is more information on the California Mid-State Fair website about each of these events, activities, competitions and exhibits, so spend some time checking it out! What are you most looking forward to? Leave a comment and share!

Enjoy the Fair this year and be safe. When ready to buy a Central Coast home, or to sell your Central Coast home, I am your Central Coast real estate agent, here and ready to help you out!
