Here in the Central Coast region of California, we have events all year long that we look forward to, from free outdoor concerts in the park to wine festivals with local wine tastings. The California Mid-State Fair is one of the biggest events that take place in our cozy Central Coast region, and it’s coming up July 20 through July 31. As your Central Coast real estate agent, I’d like to help you plan for it!

One of the major reasons that both locals and visitors look forward to the California Mid-State Fair is because of the big name bands and singers that the fest attracts to Paso Robles. Because these are so popular, it is also wise to purchase your tickets for these concerts ahead of time, as they each require a separate ticket.

Here are the headliners to look forward to this year:

• Fall Out Boy – July 20, 7:30 p.m.
• Justin Moore with Joe Nichols – July 21, 7:30 p.m.
• Fergie – July 22, 7:30 p.m.
• Blake Shelton – July 23, 7:30 p.m.
• Tim McGraw – July 24, 7:30 p.m.
• Hollywood Vampires – July 25, 7:30 p.m.
• Don Henley – July 26, 7:30 p.m.
• Duran Duran with CHIC Featuring Nile Rodgers – July 27, 7:30 p.m.
• Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Jonny Lang – July 28, 7 p.m.
• Brian Wilson presents Pet Sounds Celebrating the 50th Anniversary with special guests Al Jardine and Blondie Chaplin – July 29, 7 p.m.

The rodeo is another big part of the California Mid-State Fair! The County Rodeo Finals take place on July 30 at 7 p.m., followed by Fiesta Del Charro Rodeo on July 31 at 2:30 p.m., and finishing up with the Extreme Team Rodeo on July 31 at 6:30 p.m.

For free entertainment, check out the 2016 Miss California Mid-State Fair pageant, which will be held on Tuesday, July 19 at 6:30 p.m. on the Frontier Stage. Admission and parking are free for this event, as the main festival entertainment doesn’t begin until Wednesday.

General admission to the fair costs $8.50 per adult, $6.50 for seniors 62 and over, and $4.50 for children age six to 12. Children under age six are free. If you plan on attending the fest on numerous days, you’d be better off purchasing a season pass for $50 per adult and $20 per child.
