Vintage Paso: Zinfandel Weekend is coming up soon in Paso Robles! As your San Luis Obispo County real estate agent, I always fill you in on upcoming wine events, which bring crowds of local wine enthusiasts together for fun, social activities in a gorgeous Central Coast setting!
The next big wine event is Vintage Paso: Zinfandel Weekend, which will take place March 18 through March 20. Zinfandel was the first variety planted in Paso Robles back in the 1880’s. It put us on the map, so it’s definitely worth celebrating! There are numerous events and activities taking place over the three-day time period, so pick and choose what sounds most fun to you.
Here’s a rundown of the events taking place during Zinfandel Weekend:
The Zinposium Seminar provides a Zinfandel-focused seminar on Friday, March 18, beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Paso Robles Inn Ballroom. It will be moderated by Master Sommelier, Fred Dame, from the new movie SOMM: Into the Bottle, and it will also feature a panel of six different winemakers. Tickets cost $35 per person.
After the Zinposium Seminar on March 18, wine enthusiasts are invited to attend a special screening of SOMM: Into the Bottle at Park Cinema, beginning at 7 p.m. This will be part of the SLO Film Festival. General admission for this film costs $15 or $12 for students or film society.
On March 18, join 16 Paso Robles wineries for a Zinfandel walk-around tasting at the Z-Nightcap After Party in the Paso Robles Inn Ballroom. This will run from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. and costs $35 per person. The wine tastings will be complemented with a fantastic selection of desserts, and Ben Wilmore Trio will provide live jazz. March 18, 19 and 20, create your own Zinfandel itinerary to smell, sip and savor the heritage and history of Paso Robles! Events will take place at more than 140 wineries in the area, including wine and chocolate pairings, winemaker dinners, vineyard tours, barbecues, barrel tastings, live music and much more.
