Wine lovers in the Central California region, rejoice! The next big wine event is coming up soon. Blendfest will take place this weekend, from Feb. 19 through Feb. 21. As your Central California real estate agent, I’d like to fill you in on all the details, so if you’d like to purchase tickets, you can before they sell out!
Blendfest brings 30 renowned wineries of Paso Robles to the coast, and each winery will showcase three distinct blends. The event will take place behind the locked gates of the Hearst Property in Old San Simeon Village. Guests will get to enjoy the best of wines and stunning ocean views.
It’s your choice if you want to partake in the entire weekend, or in just one or two events!
The weekend kicks off on Friday at a Winemaker Dinner at Robin’s Restaurant in Cambria, with four Paso Robles winemakers. It begins at 6:30 p.m. and includes a four-course dinner. Each course will be paired with a different Paso Robles wine. Cost is $100 per person, all inclusive. Check out the participating wineries and the menu.
Saturday is the Grand Tasting. You can purchase tickets for the 1 to 3 p.m. session for $45, or the 4 to 6:30 p.m. session for $70. The sunset tasting will also include a personalized cheese and charcuterie plate from Vivant Fine Cheese. At each tasting, you’ll get to enjoy 90 unique blends from 30 Paso Robles wineries.
Then Sunday, try your hand at blending wine at the Blending Seminar at Harmony Cellars. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., you’ll get to join four winemakers and work in teams to create your own Bordeaux-style blends. The winemakers will then vote for their favorite team! A lunch and wine reception will follow. Tickets cost $45 per person.
Proceeds from this event will go to nonprofit organizations, including Friends of Hearst Castle. So, it’s a win-win to buy a ticket! The money will go to great local causes, and you will have a fabulous wine weekend.
