SLO County Getting National Spotlight!

SLO County Real Estate
SLO County Highlights

As a Central California real estate agent, I’ve been seeing a lot of coverage about SLO County in the news lately. It seems to be becoming a national spotlight! I’ll fill you in on some of the latest things being said about this Central California County.

America’s Playground

GrindTV named California’s Central Coast a playground, with 200 miles of stunning beauty. Resting between two of the world’s biggest cities, it consists of historic missions, farming towns, tons of vineyards and wineries, and the cultural hub, San Luis Obispo.

Who remembers Oprah’s shout out to SLO County? The article mentions how she deemed San Luis Obispo as “the happiest city in America,” due to its beautiful downtown, friendly people, surrounding vineyards and laid-back outdoor lifestyle.

The article goes on to highlight the slow paced lifestyle, the quaint towns that include Cambria, Paso Robles and San Simeon, and the amazing Hearst Castle as the main attraction. Big Sur and the breathtaking views along Highway 1 get mentioned as well.

Commuting Heaven

Thanks to the slow paced lifestyle mentioned in the above article, San Luis Obispo was named the fourth best city for commuting in California, according to a recent report. This is based on commute length and whether commuters travel alone or carpool.

The report found that the average commute time is 16.8 minutes, with more than half of the city’s residents spending less than 15 minutes commuting.

Considering a shorter commute time is linked to a longer and healthier life, I’d say we’re pretty lucky to enjoy a laid back lifestyle here in Central California.

Wedding Perfection

You can find a list for just about anything these days, and DatingAdvice.com shared a list of 12 unexpectedly perfect cities to get married in. As you can guess, San Luis Obispo was named as the seventh best!

They mentioned that SLO has some of the most beautiful views on the West Coast, you can usually count on the weather to be on your side, and you can choose anything between a sandy beach backdrop to a hike-worthy view. They recommend the Dallidet Adobe and Gardens or an old-school ranch.

As you can see, there are a lot of wonderful features about SLO County. If it’s American’s happiest city, America’s playground, a great commuting city, and a great place to have a wedding, it must be an ideal place to live!
