We’ve been getting tons of rain this winter in the Central Coast region of California! This is fantastic news for Lake Nacimiento. If you haven’t liked our Lake Nacimiento Facebook page yet, please do, as we are updating it regularly with the latest water levels and rain reports. As a Lake Nacimiento real estate agent, I couldn’t be happier that the lake is filling up.
I also realize that, as Central Coast residents aren’t accustomed to so much rain, you might feel lost as to what to do on a rainy day. If you and your family are starting to get cabin fever, allow me to share some local places in Monterey County where you can enjoy indoor fun year-round!
See Monterey shared an excellent list recently, and I’d like to share some of their ideas, plus some of my own:
- Savor a bowl of local clam chowder. Clam chowder is a bit of a novelty in Monterey County, especially along Fisherman’s Wharf. On each rainy day that we have, go out and try a new bowl of clam chowder! See Monterey recommends Crabby Jim’s, Domenico’s, Old Fisherman’s Grotto and Paluca Trattoria, each with their own take on the Central Coast dish.
- Enjoy the views from inside. You don’t have to be outside to enjoy the beautiful Central Coast views! Stop by the Hyatt Carmel Highlands Fireplace Lounge for views of Point Lobos and the Big Sur coastline while sitting next to a warm, crackling fire. Or, dine at A Taste of Monterey on Cannery Row for vast views of Monterey Bay.
- Spend the day at a spa. What better excuse to have a spa day than a rainy day? Options include Spa Aiyana at Carmel Valley Ranch, Vista Blue Spa at Pebble Beach and others. You can find an array of treatments, such as massage, skincare, oxygen fusion, nail care, waxing, wraps, saunas and steam facilities. Some even include a full-service fitness center!
- Enjoy playtime indoors at a local attraction. There are plenty of places to play indoors in Monterey County! MY Museum is an excellent place for kids to blow off steam with interactive exhibits. Monterey Mirror Maze is an indoor playground, complete with a psychedelic labyrinth. Highway 1 Golf, Games and Grub features 3D black light indoor miniature golf. Take your pick!
- Work toward your real estate goals. On rainy day, you have no excuse not to bunker down and get going on your Monterey County real estate market goals. If you’d like to sell, start to clean, organize, declutter and stage your home to sell. If buying, start browsing the market, figure out what you need and want in a home, and contact a mortgage lender.
