Where to Eat On Thanksgiving in Monterey County

Want to dine out in Monterey County this Thanksgiving rather than dirty up your Central California home? Luckily, there are plenty of local restaurants that will be serving up a traditional Thanksgiving dinner on Nov. 26! As your Central California real estate agent, I’ve put together this list for you, so that you can plan accordingly. Make reservations soon, they tend to fill up!

1.  Asilomar Conference Grounds in Pacific Grove will be serving a Thanksgiving spread, buffet style. It includes seafood salad, maple glazed ham, free range Diesel turkey, pumpkin pie and so much more. Cost is $49 per adult and $25 for kids, and it runs from 2 to 6 p.m.

2.  For a more casual and affordable option, head to Peter B’s Brewpub in Monterey for a full turkey dinner, including mashed potatoes, green beans, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie, along with local craft brews. Cost is $14.99 per plate and it runs from 4 to 6:30 p.m.

3.  Big Sur River Inn Restaurant in Big Sur is throwing a Thanksgiving dinner, complete with herb roasted turkey and mushroom dressing, sweet potatoes, fresh cranberry relish and more, along with gorgeous scenery. Cost is $50 for adults and $15 for kids under 12.

4.  Mission Ranch Restaurant in Carmel-by-the-Sea is hosting a three-course Thanksgiving feast. Starters include portabella mushroom bisque or Waldorf salad, followed by salmon, roasted pork rack or free range turkey and a plethora of desserts. You have options! Cost is $50 for adults and $25 for kids 10 and under. It runs from 1 to 7:30 p.m. and there is a three-day cancellation policy.

5.  At Bernardus Lodge in Carmel Valley, you can choose from either a gourmet Thanksgiving lunch buffet or a four-course dinner. Enjoy local produce and naturally raised meats, along with wine tasting and hot apple cider by the fireplace. Lunch runs from noon to 2:30 p.m. and is $85 for adults and $32 for kids age five to 12. Dinner is from 5 to 9 p.m. and is $125 for adults.

6.  Start a new tradition at Esteban restaurant, located at historic Casa Munras Garden Hotel & Spa in Monterey. This includes turkey, potatoes, Brussels sprouts, homemade cranberry sauce and other traditional dishes, along with unique options, such as Snake River trout. This runs from 4 to 10 p.m. and costs $48 for adults and $23 for children.
