Central California Rainy Day Activities

As your Lake Nacimiento real estate agent, I am thrilled to see that Central California is receiving lots or rain this week! Lake Nacimiento and all of Central California needs it! The heaviest rain is expected to come Tuesday and Wednesday, with rain potential reaching more than two inches in Paso Robles, 1.94 inches in San Luis Obispo and 2.60 inches in Cambria!

Wondering what to do during this rainy week? While many of our events and activities do take place outside here in Central California, there are plenty of events and attractions to enjoy inside, such as all of our local shops, museums, wineries and restaurants.

Here are five specific activities to enjoy this week, whether it’s raining or not:

1.  The holidays can be a stressful time of year. Relax and unwind with a massage or facial! You deserve it. Make an appointment at Replenish Massage and Skin Care in Paso Robles before Dec. 5 and you can enjoy the Replenishing Grand Design Facial special. It includes a sugar scrub and nourishing cream to the back and shoulders, followed by a facial with many phases. This lasts 90 minutes and costs $75, which is a $25 savings.

2.  If you’re not afraid of driving in some rain, take a drive to Hearst Castle. You’ll forget all about the dreary weather outside once you arrive inside the decked out halls of this notorious Central California attraction. The holiday decorations will blow you away! Take the Grand Room Tour or Evening Tour, costing $12 to $24. Reservations are recommended. Tours take place daily!

3.  Sit down and enjoy a Christmas classic! “A Christmas Story” will be performed Dec. 5 through Dec. 21 on Thursdays through Saturdays at 7 p.m. and also at 2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. This takes place at the San Luis Obispo Little Theater. Tickets cost $15 to $25. Bring the whole family!

4.  Another theatrical favorite, “The Nutcracker Ballet,” will be performed this coming weekend, Dec. 5, 6, 7, 12 and 13 at Templeton Performing Arts Center. Watch as the beloved Nutcracker characters are brought to life on stage by the North County Dance and Performing Arts Foundation. Tickets cost $20 to $25.

5.  Head to Monterey County to spend an evening or day at Monterey Aquarium! A rainy day is the perfect opportunity to explore all that the aquarium has to offer. As one of Central California’s most popular attractions, they offer numerous tours, like the Sea Otter Conservation Tour, and you can view tons of exhibits, like the tentacles, sea turtles or jellyfish.

Stay dry and enjoy your week here in Central California! Do your rain dances for Lake Nacimiento! As always, when you’re ready to achieve your real estate goals in the Central California real estate market, contact me, your Lake Nacimiento real estate agent.
