With a new month comes a new list of local events, and another major wine event in Paso Robles! Vintage Paso: Zinfandel Weekend will take place March 20-22 at various Paso Robles locations. As your Central Coast real estate agent, I’m here to fill you in on the details, so you can purchase tickets and plan ahead for a fun weekend full of Zinfandel!
Zinfandel wines are Paso’s heritage variety. Included in the weekend of celebration is a Zin seminar, a Z After Party, winery events, and new this year, Zincursions! Here’s the scoop on each event:
Vintage Paso: Zinposium Seminar – This takes place on Friday, March 20, from 3-4:30 p.m. at Castoro Cellars. Ticket price is $45. Learn all about Paso Robles Zinfandels from a panel of five local winemakers. This year’s theme is Old Vine & Wine.
Vintage Paso: Z After Party – This also takes place on March 20, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Allegretto Vineyard Resort. Ticket price is $45. If you purchase a ticket to the Z After Party and the Zinposium, you save $10. At the Z After Party, enjoy an intimate tasting of Zinfandel and Zinfandel blended wines from 26 of Paso’s Zin specialists. Also enjoy live music, cheese and charcuterie, and sweet treats.
Vintage Paso: Zincursions – New this year, various Zincursions will be available for wine adventurers to experience on Sunday, March 22! Tickets cost $50. Options include:
1. Old Vine Farming and Blending – At Turley Wine Cellars, watch a pruning demo of nearly 100-year-old vines and learn how Turley blends different lots of Zinfandel to get the best expressions. These are hands-on experiences, so from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., you get to be a winemaker for a day.
2. One Iconic Vineyard, Four Iconic Brands – Dusi Vineyard supplies highly regarded fruit to some of Paso’s best wineries. Taste wine made from these legendary vines from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., including Barton Family Wines, Glunz Family Winery & Cellars, Tobin James Cellars, and J Dusi Wines.
3. Winemaker Luncheon with Steve Anglim – This will take place at Bovino Vineyards from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Learn how Bovino’s winemaker, Steve Anglim, creates wines from 16 varietals planted over 40 acres. Enjoy a vineyard tour and tasting, along with lunch overlooking the vineyard.
If you’d like to attend one of these Vintage Paso: Zinfandel Weekend events, purchase tickets early! Tickets are not available at the door and you must be 21 or up to attend.
