Here in Central California, the variety of festivals is extensive! This is partly due to the fact that there is such a variety of foods and beverages locally grown and created here. This coming Saturday, July 12, Paso Robles will be celebrating the 6th Annual Central Coast Lavender Festival! This will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Paso Robles Downtown City Park. It’s free to the public and is in honor of the local lavender industry here in Central California. Lavender producers from throughout the area will be there to show off all sorts of lavender products.

Fest goers can enjoy lavender cuisine, samplings of lavender oils, dipping sauces, lavender ice cream and more. While enjoying the flavors of lavender, you can also learn about the benefits of lavender, lavender growing and sustainable farming practices. Demonstrations and seminars will take place in the City Park Gazebo throughout the day.

Aside from lavender, there will be live music, a children’s activities area, arts and crafts, a Lavender Tasting Garden and more. An informal juried arts show will take place in conjunction with the Lavender Festival, plus a variety of food and beverage vendors will be present.

Make a day of it! Head to Paso Robles and educate yourself on the tastes, flavors, benefits and possibilities of local lavender. This is a growing industry and will hopefully continue to grow and flourish.
