Valentine’s Day is coming up! Do you know how you’re going to celebrate it yet? If not, allow me to help. As a Central Coast real estate agent, I will first share with you how and where to celebrate in SLO County, and then where to celebrate in Monterey County.
Here is where you can celebrate romance, wine and chocolate for Valentine’s Day in SLO County this month:
1. Between Feb. 10 and 12, head to Robert Hall Winery for a Valentine’s Weekend Truffle Pairing! Stop by this winery in Paso Robles with a partner or friend and enjoy tasting three decadent truffles paired with dessert wine. Cost is $10 per couple!
2. Celebrate Valentine’s Day early on Feb. 11 at Croad Vineyards Grand Tasting Room in Paso Robles. Chef Trish Jacobs will serve a four-course candlelit dinner. Each course will be paired with a Croad Vineyads wine. Cost is $90 per person, or $80 for wine club members.
3. On Feb. 11, chocolate lovers will unite at Vina Robles Hospitality Center for Chocolate Festival! From 5 to 8 p.m., local wineries and chocolate vendors will share chocolate-themed offerings. Enjoy everything from wine and port tastings, to confections, baked goods and more, along with live music.
4. On either Feb. 11 or 12, stop by Donati Family Vineyard in Templeton for a Valentine’s Cupcake and Wine Flight! Savor mini cupcakes from Lickety Split Bakery, paired with a wine flight of Donati wines. Flights are $25 per person and can take place in the Tasting Lounge or at the bar.
5. Park Cinemas in Paso Robles will host their yearly Valentine Movie Night on Feb. 12 at 7 p.m.! This year, enjoy a showing of “The Philadelphia Story” from 1940. Price is $12 and includes either popcorn and pop, or champagne and chocolates. Call ahead to reserve. There will also be door prizes.
6. Do something really different and purchase a Love Is An Adventure package from Margarita Adventures! Use this Feb. 11 or 12. Cost is $238 per couple and includes a zipline canopy tour, wine tasting and dessert for two. Do something daring and different this year!
On the actual holiday, Feb. 14, find a local SLO County restaurant that is serving up a special prix fixe menu, such as Madonna Inn or Avila’s Little Italy, or dine out at any one of your favorite restaurants and order from the regular menu. Call ahead and make reservations!
