Holiday Events Coming Up in SLO County

SLO County Holiday Events

In my last blog post, I shared a list of winter holiday events coming up in Monterey County. It should come as no surprise that the list of festive events in SLO County is just as long! Plan the next month out with this list of fun and festive events taking place in SLO County for the holidays. As your SLO County real estate agent, I’ve put together a list of the most helpful information:

  • The 5th Annual Cambria Christmas Market is a festive, ongoing gathering that is meant to feel like one of Germany’s traditional Christmas markets. You can enjoy brats, Gluhwein (traditional hot spiced wine) and other baked goods and treats while wandering through over one million lights, shopping among vendors, listening to live music and more. It runs now through Dec. 23 at Cambria Pines Lodge.
  • Hearst Castle Holiday Twilight Tours are running through December! See the estate as Mr. Hearst’s guests would have enjoyed it in the 1920’s and 1930’s with wreaths, towering trees, and a one-of-a-kind poinsettia tree. You will also hear stories of holiday festivities during the estate’s heydays.
  • Head to Sunken Gardens in Atascadero on Dec. 2 for their Annual Holiday Lighting Ceremony. From 6 to 7:30 p.m., enjoy a complimentary tour of City Hall, a visit with Santa, hot chocolate, holiday music by local groups, and the moment all of the lights turn on. It is free and open to everyone!
  • The Holiday Harmony & Tree Lighting Ceremony at Pismo Beach Pier takes place Dec. 2. From 5:30 to 8 p.m. Enjoy an event that includes bounce houses, crafts, music, cookie decorating, visits and pictures with Santa, and the downtown tree lighting that takes place at 6 p.m. They will even have fresh snow!
  • Downtown SLO hosts their Annual Holiday Parade on Dec. 2 this year. It’s one of the largest parades on the Central Coast and attracts thousands of spectators, so don’t miss it. The parade features all kinds of floats, vehicles, marching bands, dancers and more. It runs from 7 to 9 p.m. and is free to attend!
  • SLO Little Theatre is hosting A Christmas Story Dec. 3-23. Enjoy this Christmas classic as you watch Ralphie and his quest for a BB gun live on stage. Some of the shows will offer martinis at the bar. Show times are Thursdays through Saturdays at 7 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays at 2 p.m.
  • Downtown Paso Robles will host their own Christmas Light Parade on Dec. 3. The parade begins at 7 p.m. and takes place down the streets of downtown Paso Robles. Enjoy lit up floats and the arrival of Santa Claus at the Holiday House, who is in downtown city park until Christmas Eve.

Again, this is just a snippet of the holiday events taking place in SLO County, just as my blog post with holiday events in Monterey County was. There is no shortage of festive spirits and activities in the Central Coast region of California this time of year. Enjoy your month!
