It’s September, which means it’s California Wine Month! California Wine Month is a month-long celebration of all that the agricultural products, vintners and growers bring to our local economy, culture and lifestyle. As your Central California real estate agent, I’d like to fill you in on some of the exciting ways you can celebrate!
The biggest activity here in Central California this month is Sunset’s Savor the Central Coast. The Main Event takes place at Santa Margarita Ranch on Sept. 27 and 28. There you can sip more than 200 wines, indulge in culinary bites from over 30 local chefs, meet winemakers and brew masters, learn more about wine, tour the Central Coast Pavilion, test your blind tasting skills and more! Your ticket in gets you unlimited wine and food samples.
Aside from the main event, there are also tons of Adventure Tours. These are separate from the main event but still part of Sunset’s Savor the Central Coast. These take place Sept. 25 and 26. Some are already sold out, but many still have tickets!
Sept. 25, you can create botanical spa products with Sycamore Mineral Springs in Avila Beach, blend wild wine at Santa Margarita Vineyard, or learn how to cook local farm cuisine with the Dolphin Bay Resort & Spa chef.
On Sept. 26, you can roam with the Clydesdales as Covell Ranch in Cambria, explore the farm and foodie secrets of Arroyo Grande, enjoy the ultimate wine experience at Halter Ranch with a hike, cave tour and harvest lunch, celebrate autumn’s harvest at Windrose Farm in Paso Robles, become a balsamic vinegar guru in Atascadero, or experience an authentic clambake on the sands of SeaVenture Beach Hotel & Restaurant.
Each of the Adventure Tours costs $85 and takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on its designated day. The main event takes place Sept. 27 and 28 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Single-day tickets cost $85 and two-day passes cost $150.
Separate special events and dinners also take place Sept 25 through Sept. 27. Thursday, you can enjoy Sunset at Hearst Castle from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Friday, you’ve got three more options, and Saturday is Sunset in the Vineyard at Vina Robles. Ticket prices vary for these special dinners.
As you can see, you’ve got tons of options for celebrating Sunset’s Savor the Central Coast! This is the main event to celebrate California Wine Month. However, there are plenty of smaller events happening at individual wineries and vineyards, too! As your Central California real estate agent, I will keep you updated on those as the month goes on.
