California Mid State Fair Coming up This Month!

Central California
CA Mid State Fair July 22 – Aug. 2

The California Mid State Fair is an event in Central California that everyone looks forward to each year. From July 22 to Aug. 2, the fair is jam-packed with entertainment and activities. As your Central California real estate agent, I’d like to fill you in on all that you have to look forward to.

The musical lineup this year is impressive and extensive. Headliners to look forward to include Motley Crue, Brantley Gilbert, Def Leppard, Alan Jackson, Keith Urban, Robert Cray and Stephen Stills, Meghan Trainor, Pitbull, Boston and Jason Aldean. Finish up the fair on the last two nights with the Country Rodeo Finals and the Monster Trucks Show.

There are tons of other musicians as well, performing as opening acts on the Chumash Grandstand Arena, and performing on Fort Frontier Stage and Mission Square. On the Headliner Stage, you can enjoy dance performances, a hypnotist, Zoo to You and more.

On Paso Pete’s Pondersosa Stage, you can expect all sorts of interesting activities, such as the Derby Hat Challenge, Cupcake Challenge, Apple Pie Contest, Dairy Cow Milking Challenge, Fashion Show, Cotton Ball Challenge and much more.

Aside from concerts and activities, the list of activities that take place at the California Mid State Fair are extensive each day! You’ve got lots to choose from, including equestrian shows, livestock shows and mutton bustin’.

A carnival takes place from July 22 to Aug. 2, noon to midnight each day at South East Corner. Carnival ride wristbands are available and are cheaper if bought in advance from the Fair Box Office or at any Albertsons store through July 21.

A 55-target shooting gallery was designed by Daniel Wood Land to look like a farm and ranch, with a barn and hay loft. You can shoot down fly-up cans, egg-laying chickens and jumping fish in a bathtub.

As far as exhibits go, there are numerous agriculture exhibits, arts and crafts, fine arts, flowers, home arts, industrial arts, landscapes, photography, produce and tractor restoration.

Food and beverages are a huge part of the fair, so expect lots of cooking demonstrations, winemaker nights, a Central Coast Wine Competition, home brewing and home winemaking, olive oil competition and a pancake breakfast.

If you’d like to compete in one of the dozens of competitions taking place, sign up! Season passes for admission to the fair all week cost $50 for adults and $20 for children age six to 12. For a one-day ticket into the fair, tickets cost $8.50 for adults, $4.50 for kids age six to 12 and $6.50 for seniors 62 and over. Separate tickets are required for the headliner concerts.

Purchase tickets, check out the schedule and mark down the activities and entertainment you’re most excited to see! As your Central California real estate agent, I recommend taking advantage of the fact that this massive event is right in our backyard, in Paso Robles!
