St. Patrick’s Day isn’t the only event in the Central Coast region of California this coming weekend. It is also Vintage Paso: Zinfandel Weekend in Paso Robles, March 17-19! As your Central Coast real estate agent, allow me to fill you in on where and how you can celebrate the region’s first wine, Zinfandel.
More than 140 winery events will take place over the course of the weekend, at locations all over Paso Robles. On Friday, March 17, check out some of the Main Events:
- Zinposium Seminar – This event begins at 5:30 p.m. at the Paso Robles Inn Ballroom and costs $40. At this event, you will hear from a panel of winemakers, led by Master Sommelier Peter Neptune, on the uniqueness of Zinfandel wines.
- SLO Film Festival Screening – Stop by Park Cinemas for a showing of ‘The Wine Life’ from 7 to 8:15 p.m. This costs $12 and shows the journey of Colin West on his adventures in Australia. It gives a great inside look at winemaking all over the country, and also skydiving, surfing and other adventurous activities.
- Z After Party – This event was a hit last year and is back by popular demand. It runs from 8 to 10 p.m. at the Paso Robles Inn Ballroom and costs $40. After dinner, or after the Zinposium Seminar, enjoy walking around and tasting Zinfandels from 19 Paso Robles wineries. They will be complemented by desserts and live music, so make a night of it!
Aside from these main, sponsored events, you can enjoy a plethora of events at wineries throughout the Paso Robles region all weekend! Here’s a sneak peek at some of the events taking place:
- Zinfandel Festival Winemaker’s Dinner at Opolo Vineyards on Friday, 5:30 p.m.
- Pinot & Cheese at Asuncion Ridge Vineyards all weekend, for when you’ve had enough Zinfandel
- Antipasti and Wine Pairings at August Ridge Vineyards, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday through Sunday
- Two New Zins to try at Brecon Estate all weekend
- BBQ and Barrel Tasting at Rasmussen Vineyards & Winery all weekend
- Zin Tasting and Cooking, with Zinfandel tastings, Zin brownies, lawn games and live music at Riverstar Vineyards all weekend
- 10th Anniversary Celebration at Red Soles Winery, with live music, local art and BBQ
- St. Patrick’s Day Prix Fixe Dinner at Robin’s Restaurant in Cambria on Friday night… for the Irish and beer/wine lovers
- Dinner in the Caves at Eberle Winery on Friday night at 6 p.m.
- Vintage Paso Winemaker Dinner at Adelaida Vineyards & Winery on Saturday at 5:30 p.m.
- Classical Concert & Dinner at Cass Winery on Saturday, beginning at 6 p.m.
