Spring is in full bloom and the beauty of this time of year provides the perfect opportunity for the Paso Robles community to come out and enjoy two exciting events this week: The Amgen Tour of California (Stage 5) and the 29th Annual Wine Festival in Paso Robles!
The Amgen Tour of California (Stage 5)
Commonly referred to as “America’s Tour-de-France,” the Amgen Tour of California is the biggest professional cycling event in the country. From May 15th to May 22nd, professional cycling groups from across the globe are attempting the challenge of braving the difficult courses that run throughout the landscape of California. This race is also a part of the Breakaway from Cancer sponsorship. In addition to heightening cancer awareness, the Breakaway from Cancer group also helps promote the processes of preventing and surviving cancer.
After pedaling their way through each stage of the course, Stage 5 of the tour will begin Seaside on May 19th, 2011, and it will end in the beautiful city of Paso Robles. 29th Annual Wine Festival in Paso Robles
After you’ve had your fill of excitement from the Amgen Tour, we welcome you to stay in Paso Robles for a wonderful wine and dining experience! May 20th – 22nd will be a weekend filled with premier wines, plenty of dancing, and the finest foods prepared by the hands of the most talented chefs. Events include a “Reserve Event” on May 20th, a “Grand Tasting” on May 21st from 2pm – 6pm, “Wine Country Auction and Dinner” on May 21st from 6pm – 10:30pm, and “Winery Activities” that will occur throughout the weekend.
