Paso Robles wines to cool off with

On these hot summer days in the Central Coast region, stopping by a local winery might sound like the furthest thing from fun and relaxation. As your Lake Nacimiento real estate agent, I certainly won’t judge you if you spend all of your summer days dipping into the waters at Lake Nacimiento or one of our many Central Coast ocean beaches!

However, PasoRoblesWineries.com recently shared a list of the top wineries to visit during the summertime, along with the best wines to sip at each one. They are the best options for cooling off on a hot summer day. So, next time you can bare to leave the house, blast the A/C in the car and go support one of these local wineries!

  • Cayucos Cellars – PasoRoblesWineries.com mentions that their chilled whites and roses “beckon you to live the beach life.” They recommend the 2010 Chardonnay, which has a tart-sweet pineapple flavor that’s like a breath of fresh air.
  • Harmony Cellars – They have Twilight Hours each Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. with food trucks and live music. It won’t be as hot during these hours! Recommended is the 2015 Vibrante, which is a blend of chardonnay, white Riesling and muscat canelli.
  • Cutruzzola Vineyards – With grapes grown just a few miles from the ocean, this tasting room is definitely what you’d call coastal. They recommend the 2012 Riesling, with intense notes of lime and orange blossom. It doesn’t get much more summery than that!
  • Hearst Ranch Winery – Add a tour of the beautiful Hearst Castle while you’re out in this region, and then stop at the tasting room, which is nestled into an old time general store. They recommend the 2015 Hearst Ranch Rose “Julia” chilled to 50 degrees.

The PasoRoblesWineries.com article also makes suggestions on where to eat and what else to see or do while you visit one of these summertime tasting rooms. Check out the article in its entirety!
