Three Upcoming Festivals in Central California!

artwalk_pattiThe renowned Paso Robles Wine Festival has come and gone, but a slew of other festivals, events and activities are right around the corner! Memorial Day marks the unofficial start to summer here in Central California, and with that, a never-ending stream of things to do.

As your Central California real estate agent, I’d like to inform you about three big festivals coming up soon in the area. Mark your calendars, choose which fest to visit, or attend them all! As long as you’re living in Central California, you might as well take advantage of all the fun happenings it has to offer.

Paso Artsfest

Paso Robles wrapped up its Wine Festival last weekend and already has the main event of the Paso Artsfest scheduled for this coming weekend, May 24! There is never a dull moment in this city.

Artsfest will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the downtown City Park and is free to the public! It’ll include an outdoor fine art show and sale, DIY sand sculpting, a bar and lounge that features local wine and beer, live music and performances, local food options, social “artworking,” interactive art experiences and more. Whether you purchase art or create your own, your whole family is sure to enjoy the day.

Morro Bay Music Festival

Family Day at Morro Bay Music Festival takes place on June 7! This is a wonderful family-friendly event that kids of all ages will enjoy. It will take place at Tidelands Park on the Embarcadero from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. It will feature all local bands, along with arts and craft vendors, wine and beer, and a delicious barbecue. All you need to bring is some lawn chairs!

For kids especially, the festival will host Dr. Nick the Balloonatic and face painting by Namaste Studios. Tidelands Park also has a Pirate Playground and sand box with a pirate ship and pirate scenes from movies.

Kids 12 and under are free, but admission for adults is $2. Proceeds go to the Morro Bay Harbor Festival, which takes place the first weekend in October.

Oyster Festival

The 3rd Annual Avila Beach Oyster Festival will also take place on June 7 from noon to 8 p.m. If you love local oysters, this is not a fest that you want to miss. Even if you don’t, there will be lots of fun activities to partake in.

Watch “The Big O” chef award, “Best of Shuck” shucking contest on the foodie stage. Enjoy the music festival happening all day long, plus the local beer, wine, cocktails and “aphrodisiac” lounge. There will be over 30 local food and retail vendors, live painters and performers, a zero-waste event by the Guerrilla Gardening Club and more.

Tickets cost $20 in advance and $25 at the door. The fest will take place on the beautiful Avila Beach Golf Course.
