Summer is the best and busiest season for lake activities at Lake Nacimiento! We love seeing and sharing photos and videos of people enjoying the lake on our Facebook page. From water sports to swimming and boating, there is no shortage of daytime activities to enjoy at The Dragon.
However, summer is also a very HOT season at Lake Naci! If you can’t handle the heat, even with a dip in the lake, or if your skin is sensitive to the sun, you might enjoy evenings at Lake Nacimiento more than days. As your Lake Nacimiento real estate agent, I am here to share some evening activity options with you!
Oak Shores Community Activities – If you live in the Oak Shores community, you can enjoy weekly evening activities with other Lake Naci residents! During the summer, pontoon nights take place on Friday evenings, where residents join together to head out on the lake on pontoon boats. On Saturday evenings, there are free movies under the stars with popcorn. Keep up with the Oak Shores Facebook page and our Facebook page for updates on Oak Shores activities!
Fishing – It’s too hot to go fishing during the hottest hours of the day, and fortunately, the best times to catch fish are in the early hours and evening hours. So head out on your fishing boat, or set up on shore, right around the time that the sun goes down. It’s quiet and peaceful, and the fish are more likely to catch.
Sunsets – Whether you’ve got your folding chairs set up on shore, you’re heading out for a sunset cruise on your boat, or you’ve got a stellar view from your own home’s deck or patio, there is no bad place to watch a Lake Nacimiento sunset. Share your photos on our Facebook page, we love to see them!
Stargazing – Once the sun is down, the stars come out. Lay out a blanket in your backyard or on the shores of Lake Naci and stargaze with your family or friends. Make a wish if you see a shooting star! Search for planets or constellations. There are star maps and apps that fill you in on what to find in the sky on any given night.
Campfires – Whether you have your own fire pit in the backyard, or you rent a campsite for an evening, campfires are a relaxing way to enjoy an evening under the stars at Lake Nacimiento. Toast marshmallows or s’mores and tell stories around the flames. This old-fashioned way of having fun never gets old!
