Paso Robles Wine Festival Details

Paso Robles Wine Festival
Paso Robles Wine Festival

As a Central Coast local and Paso Robles wine enthusiast, it’s always exciting when there’s an upcoming local wine festival to look forward to! The next one, the Paso Robles Wine Festival, is coming up in a few short weeks, May 16-19. As your Central Coast real estate agent, allow me to fill you in on the details, so you can purchase tickets to the events that interest you most, before they sell out.

This four-day celebration combines main events with individual winery events. On Thursday, May 16, the festival kicks off with winemaker dinners at select area restaurants. On Friday is the RESERVE Event. Saturday morning is a Winemaker Seminar, followed by the Grand Tasting.

Winemaker dinners on Thursday, May 16 include:

1.  Bottle Share Dinner at The Hatch, $100 – Three-course meal paired with Paso wines, featuring Jordan Fiorentini, Epoch Estate Wines, and Pelletiere Vineyard & Winery.

2.  Winemaker Dinner at Thomas Hill Organics, $125 – Four-course meal paired with Paso wines, featuring Hearst Ranch, Opolo, TH Estate and Vines on the Marycrest.

Friday’s RESERVE Event costs $90 per ticket. This includes more than 70 wineries and a selection of local restaurants. Each participating winery offers two of their best wines in the categories of Reserve, Library, White/Rose or Futures. You can see the list of participating wineries here. Food from local restaurants will be paired perfectly with the wines in Downtown Paso Robles City Park, and you can enjoy live music while you taste and mingle.

Start Saturday morning off with the Winemaker Seminar from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., with tickets costing $25. Each participating winemaker will share the stories behind their label, and each will feature a wine to complement the story. All you have to do is sit back, sip the wines and enjoy the show.

This brings us to the Grand Tasting on Saturday, the main event! This too takes place in beautiful Downtown Paso Robles City Park from 1 to 4 p.m. More than 70 wineries come together to showcase their wines. The wineries are arranged by region: Bordeaux-style, Rhone-style, Zinfandel, Burgundian-style, Italian varieties and Other Wild Wines. Along with wine tastings, there will be food samples, local artisan merchants, live music and more.

Tickets for the Grand Tasting cost $70, or $90 for early entry at 12 p.m.  Designated Driver tickets cost $25. A combination ticket for the RESERVE and early entry to the Grand Tasting costs $145. More ticket information can be found on the wine festival ticket page.

Then all weekend, including Sunday, participating Paso Robles wineries will be hosting their own individual events throughout the region. Check back for a future blog post, where we’ll fill you in on those events!
