Paso Robles Named One Of Best Wine Destinations For 2016!

Paso Robles Real Estate
Paso Robles Wine Region

As a Central California real estate agent, I feel fortunate every day for the chance to live in such a beautiful, vibrant region of California, and to help others move to this area as well! To prove how wonderful this region is, Wine Enthusiast recently named Paso Robles as one of the top 10 wine regions in the WORLD for 2016. That’s huge!

As the article states, “Paso Robles combines bucolic estate settings in the surrounding foothills with a vibrant tasting culture downtown.” This sums up the town pretty perfectly, doesn’t it?

The article also makes numerous recommendation on where to dine, drink, stay and play, with lots of shout outs to some of our favorite local businesses! Here’s what they suggested.

Where to dine:

  • Artisan, leading the Paso Robles farm-to-table charge
  • Thomas Hill Organics, serving up local and organic
  • Il Cortile Ristorante, exquisite Italian cuisine
  • La Cosecha, Spanish fare, same chef as Il Cortile Ristorante
  • The Hatch, Southern comfort food loved by local winemakers
  • Fish Gaucho, known for its seafood and tequila
  • Niner Wine Estates, gourmet vineyard dining
  • Justin Winery, also gourmet vineyard dining

Where to stay:

  • Paso Robles Inn, “housing guests since the Wild West Days.”
  • Hotel Cheval, perfect for boutique hotel lovers, with 16 luxurious rooms
  • The Oaks Hotel, ideal for bargain hunters
  • Allegretto Vineyard Resort, raising the region’s overnight ante

Where to play:

  • Vina Robles Amphitheater, with world-class concerts and onsite wine to sip
  • Firestone Walker Brewing Company and BarrelHouse Brewing Co, for the beer lovers of the group
  • Ancient Peaks, for a zipline vineyard tour

Where to taste:

  • Daou Vineyards, for breathtaking hilltop views
  • Adelaida and Halter Ranch, both opening new tasting rooms
  • Tin City, where Field Recordings, Nicora, Giornata and others make wine in warehouses
  • Highway 46 West Wine Trails, which “offers a treasure trove of tasting opportunities.”

Others mentioned include Epoch Estate Wines, Tooth & Nail Winery, Peach Canyon, Robert Hall Winery, Eberle Winery, Tobin James Cellars, Anglim Winery, Parrish Family Vineyard and LXV Winery.

Wine Enthusiast’s article also mentions Englishman Neil Collins, as he oversees Tablas Creek Vineyard, has his own label, Lone Madrone, and crafts more than a dozen types of ciders at Bristols Cider. We have many other locals with an impressive track record of accomplishments as well!

As you can see, Paso Robles has stolen the heart of wine lovers everywhere, and travelers in general. So don’t you feel fortunate to live in or near Paso Robles year-round? As a local, we get to experience the wine, food, fun and beautiful scenery whenever we want! This month, we even get to enjoy Go Local Wine Deals.
