Earlier this week, I shared the schedule for farmer’s markets in SLO County. Today, as your Central California real estate agent, I’d like to share the schedule for farmer’s markets around Monterey County. With so many weekly opportunities for supporting our local farmers and agriculture, there is no excuse not to!
Mark down the times and dates of each market, or bookmark this blog:
- Pacific Grove – Mondays from 3 to 7 p.m. It is located at Grand Avenue and Central Avenue.
- Carmel – Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. It is located at 3618 The Barnyard.
- Salinas – There are quite a few in Salinas! One is Tuesdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 632 East Alisal Street. Another is Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at 1441 Constitution Boulevard. Another is Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Alisal and Pearl Street. (This one doesn’t begin until July.) Another is Fridays from 2 to 6 p.m. at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital. The final one is Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in downtown, on Gabilan Street between Main and Salinas Streets.
- Monterey – One is on Tuesdays from 4 to 8 p.m. and takes place at Alvarado and Franklin Street. Another is Fridays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and takes place at Monterey Peninsula College. The last is Sundays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Del Monte Shopping Center.
- Carmel – Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This is located at 6th and Mission Street in Carmel-by-the-Sea.
- Soledad – Thursdays from 4 to 8 p.m. It is located on Encinal Street.
- Greenfield – Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. It is located at the library on El Camino Real and Palm Avenue.
- Marina – Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 215 Reservation Road.
At these farmer’s markets, you can expect to find fresh produce, flowers and more, all grown locally in Monterey County and the entire Central California region. Some of the markets also include gourmet foods, oils, salsas, nuts, eggs, popcorn and more. Others include wine, and many include live music and other forms of entertainment.
Bring the whole family and support our local community! According to the Monterey County Farm Bureau, agriculture contributes over $4.38 billion each year to Monterey County’s economic output, with an impact of over $9.2 billion on the local economy. Plus, with local farmers growing more than 150 crops, it’s impossible not to find something that you’ll love.
