Now that Valentine’s Day is over here in Central California, it’s time to look ahead to upcoming spring events in the area. There are tons of events and activities coming up that you can purchase your tickets and plan ahead for! As your Central California real estate agent, I’m here to share the information with you so that you don’t miss a beat of what takes place here in the Central California region.
1. This Saturday, Feb. 21, head to Avila Beach as they celebrate Bird Sanctuary Day! This will begin at 10 a.m. at the Avila Community Center. Did you know that Avila Beach has a wide variety or migratory birds? Learn all about them during a full day of education and appreciation for these birds through exhibits, talks and a bird walk.
2. If you or someone you know is getting married soon in Central California, or is hosting any type of significant event, mark your calendar for the Wedding and Special Event Expo on March 1 in Paso Robles! From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Paso Robles Inn Park Ballroom, you can browse among vendors and party planners to find the perfect venue, photographer and more. It’s free admission. You can even renew your wedding vows!
3. The San Luis Obispo International Film Festival is arriving in March, and as part of the event, there will be a historic screening of Citizen Kane at Hearst Castle’s Hilltop Theater. This will take place on March 13. It’s a fundraiser, so here’s the kicker. Tickets cost $1,000 per person. Only 50 people will be able to see the screening in William Randolph Hearst’s original private theater! Of course, if you can’t afford that special screening, check out all of the other events and screenings taking place during the Film Festival, from March 10 through March 15.
4. The lineup for spring and summer concerts at the Vina Robles Amphitheatre is out, and you can begin purchasing tickets to the shows that interest you most. Lots of people are excited about Steely Dan coming to Paso Robles on April 14. Others include Little Big Town, Willie Nelson and more. Check out the full calendar to see which concerts you’d like to see live.
5. Wine, Waves & Beyond will take place once again this year at numerous scenic venues throughout SLO County from April 29 through May 3. From surf movies on the big screen, to live wine and surfing events, there is something for everyone during this five-day festival. Tickets tend to sell out early, so if it sounds like your cup of tea (or wine), purchase your tickets early!
