Educate & Socialize At These Central California Tours

Central California
Central California Guided Tours

In my last blog post, I shared some unique tasting tours you can visit in SLO County. As your Central California real estate agent, today I’d like to share some other unique and educational tours you can partake in in Central California. Group tours are a great way to meet people after relocating to the Central California area, and all of these events are a great way to explore and learn more about the surrounding area.

Here are a few you can choose from this time of year:

  • The Pecho Coast Trail to the Point San Luis Lighthouse is open to 20 hikers each Wednesday and 40 hikers each Saturday. Guided hikes depart at 9 a.m. and return at 1 p.m. If you’re up for some physical activity, make a reservation up to two weeks in advance of the day you’d like to hike. It’s a 3.75-mile hike, roundtrip, so wear hiking shoes and bring plenty of water.
  • Carmel Walks are guided tours through Carmel, including secret pathways, hidden courtyards, award-winning gardens and past fairytale cottages. You’ll also learn about the homes, haunts and history of famous artists, writers and movie stars who have ties to the area. The walk is two hours long and is guided by a knowledgeable local in a group setting.
  • Cambria has a rich history, starting in the 1860’s, and you can enjoy a self-guided walking tour of Cambria that visits 26 history structures throughout town. The tour begins at the Cambria Historical Museum downtown. After purchasing the walking tour guide book, which is $10, you can start with a docent-led tour at the Museum and then head off to explore the historic East Village. Although these are self-guided tours, you could find someone else doing the tour and team up for some company.
  • Visit the San Luis Obispo Museum of Art for the Festival Mozaic Wintermezzo II Notable Encounter Insight. You’ll get to join international renowned Festival artists for a one-hour tour behind the music of Brahms and Brach. You’ll learn about the composers’ histories, and the musicians will share their perspectives on the works with artistry and humor. This festival only takes place this weekend, Feb. 26 through Feb. 28.

This is just a selection of the many available tours and educational events that take place in Central California. What local tour is your favorite to take? Is it one that was left off the list? Leave a comment and share the details!
