As your Central Coast real estate agent, I pride myself on keeping you updated with the latest news and highlights taking place in the Central Coast region. There has been a lot of exciting news happening in Paso Robles! To help keep you up with the latest, I’ve summarized tidbits from some of the big news stories as of late:
1. The 2017 Central Coast Wine Competition took place in late July at the California Mid-State Fair, and there were winners from every county in the Central Coast! Best in Show and Best Red Wine went to Broken Earth Winery’s 2015 Grenache. Best White Wine went to Eberle Winery’s 2016 Muscat Canelli. Best Pine Wine went to Kita Wines 2016 Grenache Rose. Best Sparkling Wine went to Laetitia Vineyard & Winery’s 2014 Brut Cuvee. Best Dessert Wine went to Glunz Family Winery’s Mission Angelica. Each of these also won a Gold Medal for Best in Class. 2. Speaking of wine, Travel + Leisure named Ecluse Wines of Paso Robles a top 25 must-visit vineyard! This is a great spotlight for this boutique, family-owned winery on the Westside of Paso Robles. They were also awarded Best Red Wine for their 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon a few years back at the San Francisco Chronical Wine Competition, the largest competition of American wines. If you haven’t visited their tasting room or tried their wines, now is the time to keep them on the radar!
3. Wine hasn’t been the only big news in Paso Robles. Food has been a recent highlight as well. Il Cortile Ristorante and La Cosecha Bar + Restaurant each received Wine Spectator’s 2017 Awards of Excellence! This marks the fourth consecutive win for Il Cortile, very impressive, and the first for La Cosecha, very exciting! They were awarded because of their outstanding food quality, exciting menus, elite service and eclectic and thoughtful wine lists. Next time you’re looking for a place to dine, check one of these out and congratulate them!
4. Although not an award, it’s worth mentioning that Vina Robles Amphitheatre celebrated their 100th show a couple weeks back! They opened in 2013 and have hosted world-renowned artists in concert, such as Tony Bennett, Dolly Parton, Brian Wilson and many more. It was named Best Live Music Venue by New Times and was nominated for numerous other awards. If you haven’t been to a concert here in a while, or ever, it’s worth checking out!
