Therefore, I’ve put together a list of events coming up this weekend in Central California. Whether you head out to SLO County or Monterey County, you’ve got plenty of options for family-friendly fun or an adult night out!

1. The 23rd Annual Hot El Camino Cruise Night returns to Downtown Atascadero this Friday, Aug. 21, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. It is free to attend, as you watch old and new cars drive up and down El Camino Real, from Curbaril to Traffic Way.
2. Sylvia at SLO Little Theatre is a great event for those looking to sit and relax during a night out. This modern romantic comedy tells the tale of a dog who is adopted by a couple, and the comedy that results. Performances run from Aug. 21 to Sept. 6. Showings take place on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays at 2 p.m.
3. The 27th Annual Dune Run & Walk takes place this Saturday, Aug. 22, in Grover Beach! Sign up for the 5k run, 5k walk or 10k run through Central California dunes. A combination of soft sand and hard sand makes this an interesting race for all! Prizes are awarded in all age and gender categories to first and second place. Registration only runs through Thursday, Aug. 20.
4. Stone Soup Music Festival Street Faire also takes place in Grover Beach this weekend, Aug. 22 and 23. Enjoy live music all day, each day, on two stages, along with vendor booths and lots of international food. Hours on Saturday are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. It’s free to attend!
5. Sand City West End Celebration takes place Aug. 22 and 23 as well, throughout the streets of Sand City! Free admission will allow you to enjoy more than 100 artists and artisans showcasing art of every genre. This includes paintings, sculptors, jewelry and so much more. There will also be live music and performing arts, along with over a dozen beer, wine and food vendors.
