Rain Ceremony
Saturday, February 6th

Join residents throughout Lake Nacimiento and Oak Shores on Saturday, February 6th at the Oak Shores Community Club House to welcome the rain with a Native American rain ceremony. Scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Alan “Spirit Hawk” Salazar, a Chumash spiritual leader, will conduct this impressive dance in an effort to show appreciation for the vast power that is nature as well as the environment that we live, work and play in. The extended drought that has affected much of California, including nearby homes on Lake Nacimiento, has taken its toll on the region. With recent rains giving local residents and visitors a strong sense of optimism and storms predicted to continue, it’s time to band together as a community to celebrate the much-needed rains!
