Where to Go On Halloween in Central California

Central California Halloween
Central California Halloween

Happy Halloween week! As your Central California real estate agent, I’ve been sharing Halloween events taking place in Monterey County and SLO County with you here on the blog, all month long, leading up to Halloween. Today, I’d like to remind you where to go and what to do on the actual Halloween holiday this Saturday.

Make last-minute purchases and preparations for your costume and head to one of these Halloween events in Central California!

  • Carmel-by-the-Sea was incorporated on Halloween, so they happen to love this holiday! Head to Ocean Avenue for a free Halloween Parade on Saturday, beginning at 11 a.m. Afterwards, you can head to Sunset Center for a $5 hot dog lunch with chili, chips, a drink, ice cream and birthday cake.
  • Visit the Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History for a day full of creepy crawlers that give you the heebie jeebies. Daring individuals can hold a tarantula, sample spider eats, make a spider web, enjoy Halloween crafts, and of course, go trick-or-treating around the museum. This is a free event that runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Head on over to the Lighthouse District, where local businesses will be handing out treats to trick-or-treaters from 2 to 5 p.m. Dress in costume and enjoy the festivities! There will also be dinner specials available for when you and your little ones need something besides candy. It’s free to attend.
  • Your family can also visit downtown Morro Bay for the Morro Bay Downtown Trick-or-Treat from 2 to 5 p.m.! Pick up a trick-or-treating map that shows which businesses are participating. There will also be a costume contest with prizes, and a parade will take off at 4 p.m.
  • Head to Downtown Paso Robles for their Safe & Fun Halloween from 4 to 7 p.m. Kids can go trick-or-treating at downtown businesses. While strolling around, look out for the witches walking around with you, and feel free to take photos with them! Bring your best carved pumpkin as well for their carved pumpkin costume. You can also dine on tasty barbecue and enjoy live music.
  • Visit the City of Seaside for their Halloween Bonanza! From 6 to 9 p.m., enjoy a costume contest, bounce houses for the kids, games, crafts, candy and a haunted house. The first 500 kids will receive free glow bracelets. The event is free to attend for everyone.
  • If you’re looking for an adult event, head to 201 Main for their Halloween Party! They are premiering their brand-new Exchange Night Club on the night of Halloween. From 10 p.m. to 2 a.m., enjoy VIP tables, bottle service and killer cocktails, along with a costume contest.

Have a fun and safe Halloween! If you have a costume you’re proud of, share a photo in the comments or on my Facebook page. I’d love to see it!
