Central California Event

September is California Wine Month, and the biggest event in Central California takes place this weekend! As your Central California real estate agent, I want to make sure you have all the information you need about Sunset’s Savor the Central Coast.

The Main Event is this Saturday and Sunday, but there are tons of other events happening before that, beginning on Thursday! Here’s a rundown of some of the best events taking place each day:

  • Sunset at Hearst Castle can get your Savor weekend started on Thursday from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.! This is a party for up to 600 on the terraces of Hearst Castle. The San Luis Jazz Band will play while you enjoy sipping wine and dining on delicacies from Chef Meagan Loring and other guest chefs. These are some of the best views in Central California, don’t miss this opportunity!
  • On Thursday at Dolphin Bay Resort & Spa, Learn to Cook Local Farm Cuisine. Chef Jacob Moss of Lido will teach you how to transform fresh vegetables from LooLoo Farms, and local beef from 805 Beef, into scrumptious barbecue that you can replicate at home! Adelaida Cellars wines will be available.
  • One of Friday’s Adventure Tours is called Experience an Authentic Clambake on the Sands of SeaVenture Beach Hotel & Restaurant! Here you can get casual on the beach as you prepare for a classic beach clambake with Chef Casey Walcott. You’ll learn steaming techniques and what to serve with clams, all while sipping on wines from Chamisal Vineyards.
  • Also on Friday, Explore the Farm and Foodie Secrets of Arroyo Grande! You’ll begin at Comfort Market, where you’ll learn how to make the most of a produce-centered meal. Then you’ll enjoy a farmstead lunch, along with wine from Talley Vineyards, before continuing onto Doc Burnstein’s Ice Cream Lab, where you’ll learn about ice cream making while enjoying delicious treats!

There are numerous other Adventure Tours and Dinners happening each day as well. For the full list, check out Sunset’s Savor the Central Coast website, which also has times, locations and ticket prices.

Then on Saturday and Sunday, head to the historic Santa Margarita Ranch from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. for the Main Event extravaganza! Attendees can enjoy unlimited food and wine tasting, with over 100 wineries, restaurants and food purveyors offering food and drink samples. With wineries, celebrity and master chefs, brew masters, local fishermen and artisanal food producers showcased, you are sure to feel full and satisfied when it’s all said and done.

While browsing and sampling, you can also enjoy live music, seminars, mini tours, exhibits and more. With so much to see, do and taste, a two-day pass for $150 is a smart choice! However, one-day passes are also available for $85.

This is a jam-packed weekend of fun in Central California. As your Central California real estate agent, I hope you get to partake in it!
