Post-Holiday Fun in Central California!

Central California Activities
Lake Nacimiento Fishing

If you’re feeling blue now that the holidays are over and your regular schedule has returned in Central California, have no fear. There are still plenty of fun activities to partake in all winter long here in the Central California region. Take advantage of the warmth and sunshine that California still supplies during the winter months by getting out and staying active.

As your Central California real estate agent, I’m here to help you out! Here are some activities worth checking out this winter in Central California:

1.  Go fishing at Lake Nacimiento! Winter is a great time for fishing at our local lakes. The temperatures are a bit cooler and the fish bight all day rather than just in the early morning or late evening. Anglers have been pulling in Spotted Bass regularly, ranging from one to four pounds usually. Lots of luck is being had in the main channel, according to the latest fishing report.

2.  Try a new restaurant in Paso Robles. This SFGate.com article introduces three of the latest restaurants to join the food scene in Paso Robles: Black Stallion, FishGaucho and Mistura. So whether you’re in the mood for bacon, a burger, seafood or Peruvian food, you’ve got options. SLO County Restaurant Month is the perfect time to check out one of these restaurants, and many others!

3.  Take a day hike. If getting fit and being active fall onto your New Year’s Resolution list, you’re in luck. You’ve got plenty of options in Central California! Check out this list of the top 10 day hikes in Monterey County. Plan to complete one each weekend, or at least complete them all by the end of the year. You’ll see some fantastic scenery along the way.

4.  Dine out in Monterey at a discount. Monterey County is hosting its own form of Restaurant Month this January. If you mention “California Restaurant Month” at any of the participating restaurants, you’ll receive 15 percent off your bill. Restaurants include Cantinetta Luca, Esteban, Jacks Restaurant & Lounge, and Schooners Coastal Kitchen & Bar.

5.  Recharge in hot mineral springs water. Maybe what you need most after the holidays is some relaxation and rejuvenation time. According to Desert Sun, soaking in hot mineral water is a great way to deeply relax while recharging your body with natural minerals. Locally, you can do this at Sycamore Mineral Springs in Avila Beach, or at Paso Robles Inn in Paso Robles.

So whether you want to get active on a trail, or you want to relax and unwind on a fishing boat or at a spa, there is a Central California activity for you to enjoy this winter. When you’re ready to accomplish your home-buying or home-selling goals in the Central California real estate market, winter is a great time for that too!
