Foreclosure Update – October

SLO_1013In October, the number of properties that received a foreclosure filing in San Luis Obispo County, CA was 23% higher than the previous month and 53% lower than the same time last year. Home sales for September 2013 were down 21% compared with the previous month, and up 15%compared with a year ago. The median sales price of a non-distressed home was $429,000. The median sales price of a foreclosure home was $333,550, or 22% lower than non-distressed home sales.

In October, the number of properties that received a foreclosure filing in Monterey County, CA was42% higher than the previous month and 64% lower than the same time last year. Home sales for September 2013 were up 5% compared with the previous month, and up 15% compared with a year ago. The median sales price of a non-distressed home was $390,000. The median sales price of a foreclosure home was $273,152, or 30% lower than non-distressed home sales.
