Earth Day Events in Central California!

Central California Events
Central CA Earth Day

As a Central California real estate agent, I feel so fortunate to live in as beautiful a place as Central California! We’ve got Lake Nacimiento, ocean beaches, rolling green hills, Big Sur mountains, wildflowers and vineyards. There is so much natural beauty to be thankful for in Central California!

That is why there are numerous Earth Day events coming up in the Central California region. These events give you a chance to celebrate the earth’s beauty, and to give back to the earth as well. Mark your calendar for these upcoming Earth Day events.

Earth Day Food & Wine Weekend

Earth Day Food & Wine Weekend is this coming weekend, April 17-19. The main event takes place at Castoro Cellars in Templeton on April 18. You can enjoy a top quality food and wine experience with a causal atmosphere! Either purchase tickets at a VIP table, or enjoy the event picnic style. Proxima Parada will perform California funk tunes, which is excellent dancing music! Proceeds benefit educational scholarships for relatives of farmworkers.

Aside from the main event, there are tons of other events and activities to enjoy all weekend. On Friday, enjoy wine and cheese pairing at Ancient Peaks, a farm to vineyard luncheon at Talley Vineyard and Train Wreck Friday at Pomar Junction, with wines and food to purchase. You can also bring your own food to cook on their community grill! Enjoy an intimate family-style dinner at Laetitia’s Cellar on Saturday, and then return to Castoro on Sunday for yoga and an organic brunch. Visit Olea Farms Sunday for a complimentary olive mill tour. Visit the website for more weekend events!

Earth Day Fair & Music Fest

On Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., bring the whole family to El Chorro Regional Park for a day of eco-friendly fun! You can park at the SLO City Transit Center and take the Double Decker bus to the event, or park at Cuesta College and take shuttle buses. Admission to the fest is free!

Earth Day Fair & Music Fest includes a Dairy Creek Zero Waste Park Tour, the Clean Energy Zone, Kid’s Korner, Eco Marketplace, Health& Wellbeing Center, a food court, beer and wine, botanical garden tours, live music on two stages and more. Guy Bud and Gypsy Souls are two of the entertainers scheduled for this year’s event! Lots of local, earth-friendly exhibitors will be present as well.

Earth Day in Cambria

Stewardship Travel hosts events year-round for travelers to enjoy in Cambria, which also teach them about the local environment. Locals can enjoy these events, too! Every Saturday, you can visit San Simeon Cove to participate in the Coastal Discovery Center’s Plankton Monitoring program. You can help take measurements and collect samples of ocean plankton.

Cambria’s Annual Wildflower Weekend Show takes place the last weekend of April at Veteran’s Hall. Over 500 bouquets of native wildflowers are on display, and local experts will be there to educate you about the native plants. When you see wildflowers all around Central California, you’ll be able to identify them!
