It’s the week of Christmas here in Central California! What are your dining plans for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day? If you don’t feel like cooking for you, your family, or an entire house of guests, make reservations at a local restaurant! Numerous area restaurants will be open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, and some are offering special menus for the festive holiday. As your Lake Nacimiento real estate agent, I’ve put together a list.
Here are five dining options on Christmas Eve or Day in Central California:
1. Executive Chef Gregg Wangard is creating a special a la carte three-course menu for $40 at The Gardens Restaurant at Sycamore Mineral Springs in Avila Beach. Guests can choose three courses from a specialized dinner menu. A kids menu will also be available. Christmas Eve hours are from 5 to 9 p.m., and Christmas Day hours are from 4 to 8 p.m.
2. Alex Madonna’s Gold Rush Steak House in San Luis Obispo will be serving seasonal entrees and festive cocktails on Christmas Eve from 3 to 10 p.m., and on Christmas Day from noon to 10 p.m. On Christmas Eve, they have a prime rib special with homemade soup or salad, baked potato and seasonal vegetables, along with their regular menu. On Christmas Day, they have many specials and classic entrees available, along with an array of cakes and pies. Enjoy all the decorations, too!
3. Aubergine at L’Auberge Carmel is serving dinner on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day from 5 to 9 p.m. A four-course dinner menu will be available for you to choose from, and you may choose to have it with or without wine pairings. Numerous dishes and desserts are available to choose from. Cost is $115 per person, and $89 extra with wine pairing. Reservations are required!
4. Fandango’s in Pacific Grove will remain open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Special menus have been created that include some of their regular favorites, and some specials, like Roast Tom Turkey and chestnut stuffing. On Christmas Eve, lunch is available for $16.75 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and dinner from 5 to 8 p.m. for $29.75 per person. On Christmas Day, dinner will be served from 3 to 8 p.m. Call to make reservations!
5. No matter what meal you need to provide for your Christmas guests, Jacks Restaurant at Portola Hotel & Spa in Monterey has you covered. They are open Christmas Eve and Christmas Day for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast will be served from 6 a.m. to noon, lunch will be served from noon to 2 p.m., and dinner will begin seating at 5 p.m. Dinner includes regular menu items and special holiday add-ons, such as Beef Wellington.
