Central California is never short of events and activities, and Paso Robles is no exception! This quaint, yet ever-growing and popular town always has new events, activities and businesses to explore. As your Central California real estate agent, I’d like to fill you in on the upcoming 1st Annual Paso BlendFest on the Coast coming up February 21. Tickets are already selling out!

What makes this event unique is that it’ll feature renowned wines from Paso Robles Wine Country, but it’s taking place with the beautiful Central Coast as its setting! It’ll be held at The Cavalier Resort in San Simeon and will feature 30 of Paso Robles’ wineries, each showcasing three distinct blends. All the wines will be blends, which is a growing industry in the area!

This even is for those 21 and over only. Afternoon Tasting tickets are still available for $40, which takes place from 1 to 3 p.m. and includes wine tasting only. If you book accommodations in Cambria or San Simeon, you can receive $5 off your ticket. The Sunset Tasting tickets, which include appetizers and live music as well, are already sold out.

If you do decide to stay overnight, closer to the event, The Wine Wrangler will be providing round-trip shuttle service from a selection of Cambria hotels for $20. Otherwise, pick straws and decide who will be your designated driver!

Visit Cambria shared more information about the event, with interviews with some of the winemakers attending the event. For example, Jason Haas of Tablas Creek said that they’ve been making blends since the beginning, so he’s very excited to see Paso Robles making a name for itself around blends, such as Bordeaux and Rhone.

Jennifer Abascal of Wines on the Marycrest pointed out that blends allow you to expose yourself to many grape varieties at a time, and expand your taste buds, while also allowing winemakers a chance to express their artistic visions. Neeta Mittal of LXV Wines said that wine is like dance, and by bringing different styles of wine together, only then can you truly see the versatility and create climactic fusion!

Aside from BlendFest, the Pacific Coast Wine Trail, from San Simeon to Morro Bay, is hosting a Passport Weekend Feb. 21 and 22. A portion of tasting fees will be donated to The Marine Mammal Center of San Luis Obispo, so drink up for a great cause and try some new wines from along the coast of Central California!

Purchase your tickets soon for this great, first-time event. When ready to move to Central California, or ready to buy or sell in the Central California real estate market, contact me, your Central California real estate agent!
