In my last blog post, I shared how much Paso Robles has been in the news lately for its food scene and wine culture. The upcoming Paso Robles Winemakers’ Cookoff combines the town’s food and wine in one great event! As your Central California real estate agent, I’d like to fill you in on the details of this event, in case you decide to attend.
The Winemakers’ Cookoff will take place August 9 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Paso Robles Event Center. Tickets have been on sale for a while now, so purchase yours as soon as possible, before they sell out! Regular tickets cost $85 and designated driver tickets cost $45. You can order online, by phone, or in town at the offices of Access Publishing in Paso Robles. You can buy tickets at the door if they don’t sell out.
For the event, 22 winemakers from around Paso Robles compete to see who the best chef is! Each winemaker combines a grilled culinary creation with a wine and competes for Judges’ Choice and People’s Choice. You get to enjoy the best food and wine pairings of the year, and then vote for which tastes best! Six other wineries will be there to just pour wine as well, for a total of 28 wineries.
While you sip wine and indulge in culinary creations, you can enjoy live music by Julie Beaver & the Bad Dogs, back by popular demand. You may bring blankets or chairs for enjoying the music. Ice chests, outside food and drinks and dogs are not allowed.
The Winemakers’ Cookoff is presented by the Paso Robles Rotary and all proceeds from this event benefit local high school scholarships.
