Central Coast Halloween
Trick-or-treat locations on Central Coast

Happy Halloween! If looking for places to take the kids trick-or-treating on the actual holiday, here’s a rundown of hours and locations in SLO County and Monterey County. As your Central Coast real estate agent, I wish you a safe Halloween with lots of delicious candy!

Safe & Fun Halloween in Paso Robles – Head to Downtown City Park in Paso Robles from 4 to 7 p.m. for trick-or-treating at downtown businesses. You can also take photos with witches, watch the Paso Robles Youth Arts Foundation perform the “Thriller” dance, and enjoy a BBQ dinner.

Morro Bay Trick or Treat – This takes place from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. in Downtown Morro Bay. Kids in eighth grade and younger can dress in their costumes, pick up their maps at Grandma’s Frozen Yogurt, and trick-or-treat at businesses. There will be a parade at 5 p.m. followed by a costume contest.

SLO Farmer’s Market Halloween – Bring the kids in costume for trick-or-treating at participating downtown businesses from 5 to 8 p.m. Maps and costume contest check-in will take place at Union Bank. The contest will run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., with prizes for different age groups and pairs.

Atascadero Trick-or-Treat – Downtown Atascadero is hosting Trick-or-Treat on Entrada. From 5 to 7 p.m., kids are invited to trick-or-treat at over 30 stops, including businesses, nonprofits and more. There will also be a hay maze, live music, costume contest and more.

Nightmare on Main Street – This haunted house on Main Street in Templeton is in its 9th year and makes for a spooky Halloween tradition! It takes place in an abandoned 120-year-old house. Hours are 7 to 10 p.m. on Halloween night. Price is $10 or $17 for VIP.

Halloween Bash in Salinas – Bring the family out to the Halloween Bash at Northridge Mall in Salinas from 4 to 6 p.m. Kids can enjoy trick-or-treating, a costume contest, pumpkin decorating and more.

Halloween Bonanza in Seaside – Bring the kids to Oldemeyer Center in Seaside to enjoy a haunted house, costume contest, free glow necklaces, carnival games with prizes, crafts, face painting, treat bags and more. This takes place from 6 to 9 p.m.

The Haunt in Atascadero – Rather than a haunted house, The Haunt is described as a constantly-changing, fully-immersive, interactive theater experience with only small groups going through at a time. Visit between 6:30 and 11 p.m. on Halloween night. Tickets cost $12 or $20 for VIP.

Hocus Pocus at Oak Shores – While not trick-or-treating, if you’re looking for some indoor, family-friendly fun close to home, ‘Hocus Pocus’ will be shown at the Oak Shores Clubhouse at 7 p.m. There will be appetizers, popcorn and pumpkin pie served!
