Pacific Grove also has a bunch of fun fall events and activities coming up. Take a look at this list and pick out one or a few to attend this year!

• The Butterfly Parade and Bazaar is this Saturday, Oct. 1. Students from the area will appear in the parade with their teachers and classmates, and first-graders show off butterfly costumes to commemorate their first time getting to walk in the parade. This event celebrates the return of monarch butterflies to Pacific Grove each year!

• The Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary is open year-round, but November through March is the best time to visit. Monarch butterflies flock to Pacific Grove each year from many miles away, attracted to its cool climate and eucalyptus trees. Many make the sanctuary their home, so you can view a bunch of them all at once and up close.

• The Big Sur Half Marathon is coming up on Nov. 13, so if you want to register, you’ve still got time to do so and to practice! Parts of Pacific Grove and Monterey are part of the half marathon trail, along with the gorgeous coastlines, rolling hills and mountains of Big Sur. November is one of the best times to hang out in Pacific Grove too, while it’s sunny and warm. Try your luck at a local marathon!

• Flavors of Pacific Grove will take place on Nov. 19 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. This is hosted each year by the Pacific Grove Chamber of Commerce, to highlight the community’s culinary treasures and traditions. You can try dishes from all over the world, including Italian, Thai, French, Mediterranean and more. From breakfast to seafood, along with local and imported wines, you’ll try a little bit of everything.
