Labor Day might be over, but that doesn’t mean that fun events and activities cease in Central California! Quite the opposite, actually. As I mentioned in a previous blog post, September is California Wine Month, so there are plenty of wine events and festivities taking place in honor of that. As your Central California real estate agent, I’m here to share a list of other upcoming events with you as well.
Mark your calendar, so you can get out and start enjoying the unofficial beginning to the fall season in Central California!
1. Festa Italia takes place at Custom House Plaza this weekend, Sept. 11 through Sept. 13, and is free to attend! Take a trip to Italy without leaving Monterey County. You can enjoy Italian food booths, beer and wine, a bocce tournament, a parade, live entertainment, raffles and more. From calamari, steak and Italian rice balls, to cannoli and gelato, you’ll find something you love!
2. Avocado & Margarita Festival is taking place in Morro Bay this coming weekend, Sept. 12 and 13! Head to the beautiful Embarcadero for culinary delights with avocado as a staple, margaritas, beer, specialty foods, live entertainment, arts and crafts and more. Hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. You could even win a year’s worth of avocados!
3. The Triathlon at Pacific Grove takes place this weekend. Participants will start with a unique “Kelp Crawl” swim and then will enjoy looped bike and run courses around Lovers Point. There are also shorter runs available during the weekend. Either register for one of the events, or come out to cheer on and support those who are! There is also a three-day Health and Fitness Expo to attend.
4. A Taste of Downtown and Art De Tiza both take place in Paso Robles on Sept. 19! At 8 a.m., head to Downtown City Park to watch as artists transform the sidewalks into art creations made from sidewalk chalk. You can participate, too! Then from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., walk around downtown Paso Robles and taste dishes from more than 35 local restaurants, wineries, bakeries and coffee shops.
5. Avila Apple Festival will take place Sept. 20 to celebrate all things apple! Get in the spirit of fall by enjoying an apple pie baking contest, apple juggling, a kids’ apple pie eating contest and more. There will also be booths from SLO County Apple Growers, live music, food vendors, arts and crafts, more contests, kids’ activities and more. It takes place from noon to 4 p.m. at the Avila Promenade.
