Wine lovers once again unite in Central California at the 24th Annual Roll Out the Barrels Wine Weekend in San Luis Obispo this weekend! Festivities begin tomorrow, Thursday, and continue through Sunday. If you are new to the Central California area, and you’d like to taste test an abundance of local wine before choosing a favorite, this is the perfect opportunity!

As your Central California real estate agent, I’ve laid out all the details of Roll Out the Barrels below. Purchase your tickets and start planning your wine weekend of fun!

1.  Barrels in The Plaza – This event kicks off the festivities on Thursday night in Mission Plaza in Downtown San Luis Obispo. Wines of SLO County are served and paired with treats prepared by local chefs. There will be Beach Butlerz and lawn chairs available to attendees, and a gypsy swing band will provide live entertainment. Tickets cost $60 for early entry at 4:30 p.m., or $40 for general admission from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

2.  Winemaker Dinners – These take place on Friday evening at participating wineries. From casual to elegant, you are sure to find a winemaker dinner that suits your tastes. Tickets can be purchased directly from the wineries. Dinners take place at Ancient Peaks, Biddle Ranch, Chamisal Vineyards, Claiborne & Churchill Vintners and more. Ticket prices range from $21 to $110.

3.  Passport to SLO Wine Country – The main event takes place Saturday and Sunday all around San Luis Obispo. With the purchase of a ticket, you receive a “passport” to more than 30 wineries. As an attendee, you’ll enjoy wine and food pairings, reserve barrel tastings, live entertainment and special discounts on wine.

Aside from the passport booklet, ticketholders also receive a commemorative wine glass, a six-pack wine tote while supplies last, and complimentary food and wine pairings. Transportation partners are available to take you to and from each winery. Designated driver tickets are also available.

Tickets cost $55 for a weekend pass, $20 for a designated driver weekend pass, $40 for a one-day pass for either Saturday or Sunday, or a discounted rate for groups of eight or more.

4.  Summer Krush Concert – This takes place at Avila Beach Resort on Sunday. Performing are Gavin DeGraw, Matt Nathanson and Mary Lambert. There will be a Wine Tasting Lounge from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. and then the concert will soon follow. You can enjoy music, wine and great food all in one location.  Tickets cost $30, with an additional wine tasting upgrade available for $20 more.

If you book an overnight stay at a hotel in San Luis Obispo, you save $20 on your passport ticket. If you go that route, be sure to book before you buy your tickets!

Enjoy your weekend full of wine, music, entertainment, socializing and gorgeous views of Central California. When you’re ready to buy a Central California home, or sell your Central California home, contact me, your Central California real estate agent!
