If you love wine, specifically Paso Robles wine, then you know that the 35th Annual Paso Robles Wine Festival is coming up! It runs May 18 through May 21, with events occurring throughout the Paso Robles region. As your Central Coast real estate agent, allow me to fill you in on important details, so you can purchase tickets and plan for the events that sound most appealing to you!
The Grand Tasting event takes place Saturday, May 20, at Downtown Paso Robles City Park. From noon to 4 p.m., you can join more than 70 wineries as they come together to showcase their delicious wines. They are arranged by “regions,” such as Bordeaux-style, Rhone-style, Zinfandel and so on. There will also be food samples and local artisan merchants this year!
While you sample wine, munch on food and browse among local artist goods, you can enjoy the sounds of live music, provided in the picnic and gazebo area. Ricky Montijo & The Mojitos will perform on the Main Stage, and Guitar Circus will perform in the Gazebo. Friday evening, May 19, you can head to Downtown City Park for the RESERVE Event! From 4 to 6:30 p.m., you can join 74 wineries and a selection of local restaurants as each winery offers two of their best wines. Categories include Reserve, Library, White/Rose or Futures. These may be some of the best wines you ever sample! They will be perfect paired with culinary treats from local restaurants. A Winemaker Seminar will take place Saturday morning, May 20, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Paso Robles Inn Ballroom. Listen and taste wines as a panel of winemakers’ help you understand the characteristics that Paso Robles wines are known for. Combine this with the Grand Tasting event and you’ll suddenly be noticing tastes and characteristics of wine like never before!
There is also a Winemaker Dinner at Thomas Hill Organics on Thursday, May 18, from 6:30 to 9 p.m., and Big Bottle Dinner at The Hatch on May 18 from 7 to 9 p.m. Each dinner will feature an impressive meal and wine pairings in an intimate setting. These events sell out fast, so don’t wait to purchase tickets!
