Paso Robles, CA in the News Again!

Central California Real Estate
Paso Robles, CA

As a Central California real estate agent, I recently shared a blog post about all the national news coverage that Paso Robles has received in the past few weeks. Well, it happened again! This time, Forbes Travel Guide shared an article about the five things to know about California’s hottest wine region. It said that Napa has a more recognized name, but that’s all it has over Paso Robles.

It goes on to gloat about the “lavender-scented rolling hills,” farm-to-table restaurants, luxe boutiques, big-name events, small-town celebrations, major nearby attractions, and of course, vineyards. Specifically, here are the five things Forbes thinks people need to know about Paso Robles:

1.  There are more than 200 wineries. From lavish to simple, there is no shortage of vineyards and tasting rooms to explore in Paso Robles! Zinfandel is the most famous variety here, but it is blended into all sorts of innovative flavors. Most of the vineyards host events with live music, food pairings and special wine tastings, and most have gorgeous views of the rolling hills in Central California.

2.  It satisfies taste for adventure. Aside from the wine, there is much to experience here in Paso Robles! For example, Margarita Adventures has a five-line zipline course through Santa Margarita Ranch. Villa San-Juliette offers a bird’s eye view of Paso Robles from mini helicopter tours. Some wineries offer underground cave tours. The Paso Robles area is anything but dull!

3.  There are lots of producers. Paso Robles doesn’t just produce wine. It’s the heart of the agricultural Central Coast, as Forbes explains. This includes local cheeses, olives, olive oils, fruits, lavender, almonds and more. You can enjoy a tour and olive oil tastings at Pasolivo, a sustainable olive oil farm. You can taste test cheeses at Vivant Fine Cheese, with 250 varieties available. There’s local beer, too!

4. Restaurants specialize in local food. The perk to residing in the heart of agriculture is the ability for farm-to-fork restaurants to fill the streets of Paso Robles! When you eat out, you know you’re eating locally sourced and sustainable foods. From local fish and pork, to fruits and vegetables, you know the unique food dishes you enjoy are the freshest around.

5.  This region is 125 years in the making. Paso Robles is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year, so the wine region of the year didn’t pop up overnight! It began as a mineral hot springs destination in 1889. Paso Robles Inn is one of the oldest businesses, first opened in 1891, and still offers hot mineral springs soaking tubs for guests. General Store Paso Robles is another historic shop and building.
