New Year’s Eve is this week in Central California! Time to transition into planning for this holiday. As your Central California real estate agent, I’d like to share where you can celebrate New Year’s Eve in SLO County! Be sure to make reservations quickly, before they sell out.

• Novo Restaurant & Lounge – It’s a Brazilian Carnaval at Novo, beginning at 9 p.m. on New Year’s Eve. Enjoy live performances by Samba Loca and house DJs, complimentary appetizers and a champagne toast at midnight. Tickets cost $65 and it runs until 1 a.m.

• Luna Red – Midnight Under the Moon Dinner Celebration will take place with a four-course dinner and optional wine pairings. Early seating for all ages cost $48, and late seating for ages 21 and up cost $68. The late seating also includes a champagne toast and a musical performance by The Painted Horses. This seating runs from 10 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.

• Madonna Inn – From 6 p.m. to midnight, enjoy an all-inclusive New Year’s Eve celebration with specialty entrees, dessert and a glass of champagne. Entrée options include Filet Mignon, Australian Lobster, Spring Lamb and Salmon. Stay until midnight to experience Madonna Inn’s famous balloon toss! Two seatings are available, so call for reservations. Cost is $125.

• Apple Farm – They will host a special New Year’s Eve Winemaker Dinner, beginning at 6 p.m. Dinner will be paired with wines from Frolicking Frog and the menu will be winter themed. Dinner will take place in the Harvest Room and a special toast will occur at 9 p.m. Cost is $85 per person.

• Cayucos Pier – If New Year’s Day is more your thing, head to bed early so you’re ready for the 36th Annual Cayucos Polar Bear Dip on Jan. 1! Festivities begin at 9:30 a.m. and the dip takes place at noon. Join hundreds of others as you take a chilly dip in the Pacific Ocean. It’s free to participate.

• Avila Beach Pier – The fourth annual Avila Beach Polar Bear Plunge will take place Jan. 1 at Avila Beach Pier, so you have two options! You’ll meet at 11:45 a.m. and plunge into the ocean at noon. Afterward, enjoy a dessert from a local Avila Beach establishment, such as coffee, hot chocolate or even ice cream! It’s free to participate.

If none of these New Year’s Eve or Day events suit you, or reservations are full, check with your favorite local wineries. Many of them are hosting NYE events and parties as well.
